The following foods i cannot control myself around:

whole wheat fig newtons - i eat the entire box sometimes twenty minutes after i get home from the store.

peanut butter - the most i've eaten in one sitting is half a jar. i routinely have 1/3 or the jar or more in one sitting. i go through at least a jar a week.

almonds - ive' eaten over 3 cups in one sitting before, and routinely finish entire bags in one weekend

cashews - i have prohibited my dad from bringing these near the house. i gained 5 lbs one weekend after eating a gigantic economy sized bucket of them from wal mart, and broke out with acne really bad also

chocolate milk - when chocolate and milk are combined, i've been able to drink entire gallons in a night before without getting sick. true story. just takes some battlefield 2 or halo2 to take off the edge

so those are my diet kryptonites... what are yours

I'm with you on the peanut butter and the nuts man... those things are definately dangerous.

Ice Cream - once a week I have this in my post work out drink - 1.5 protein powder w/ 2 scoops of dextrose and a hefty scoop of whatever ice cream I have in the freezer. This usually turns into me eating half of the half gallon container.

Are we talking food that's healthy in principle but that tastes so good that I consume it in quantities that are not beneficial? Then I would have to say peanuts in combination with raisins. I cannot have peanuts in the house or I'll eat them all in one sitting. Peanut butter is okay, though. I love almonds, too, but I can control myself around them :D.

Beverly Muscle Provider. Sometimes I just allow myself to cheat a little and have 2.25 scoops instead of 2. :)

Heavy Cream. It's hard not to let the tablespoon overflow and use more than I meant to.

Grapefruit. It's like candy right now. I could probably eat 5 or 6 at once.

Green Beans. Just kidding.

Another grapefruit lover! :D I could eat those things by the ton, I think. I don't even use Splenda or sugar, I think they taste perfect just the way they are. Fruit in general is one of those things I could consume vast quantities of. Strawberries, apricots, nectarines, peaches, apples, honeydew melon, watermelon, pineapple, kiwis, blueberries.... There is very little fruit that I don't like (cantaloupe and bananas I'm not too fond of, unless I put the bananas in my oatmeal and cottage cheese mix in the morning).

It's not. Most people here use natty PB in their diets. Some people were just talking about the addictive nature of it. Too much PB, like too much of everything, is not a good thing.

1. id probably find it easier to get off heroin than stop eating peanut butter

2. Im on a bulking phase right now so it should help me along nicely :tu:

Potato chips - Eating a large size bag (250grams I think) in one sitting... a couple times a day is one of the reason's I ended up so fat. Even now I cant have them in the house or I will eat them... I just can't stop myself (so I just refuse to buy them).

Pizza (frozen, delivered, fresh, doesn't really matter) - The other main reason I ended up so fat. I used to eat pizza from various sources at least a few times a week. To keep myself from eating the whole pizza, now when I order out I just get a small-med pizza. Just enough for whoever is here to eat in one sitting (leftover pizza is a BAD thing to have in the fridge).

Chinese food - I have never eaten it that often, but I find that when I do I cant stop myself from eating it. Its like they make it so it never fills you up and it tastes so good, so you just keep on eatin. A Chinese food cheat meal is an ugly thing unless I buy it in a single person portion. But if I get it with people and we get a few dishes to share..... grab your fork and dig in before I eat it all!

Beer. Not so much the vast quantities that I can consume (it takes a good bit of beer for me to become inebriated due to my size), but the poor choices that I make once I start imbibing. Also, a night of drinking requires almost the same amount of recovery as a workout.

Food wise, I'd say it's Indian food.

Typically junk foods don't get to me, because it's more clear that I should show some restraint, and therefore I quit before I've overdone it.

Peanut butter, whole wheat bread, homemade muffins, yogurt, and boxed cereal (Shreddies, Raisin Bran) are the things I tend to eat too much of. (Usually some comination of the above all at once!) I think I ate nearly a whole box of Kashi Go Lean once. :o Fortunately, they don't end up doing any lasting damage to my diet, because I'm so overstuffed that I end up eating really light at the next meal.

I eat huge amounts of fruit, including strawberries, blueberries, grapes, peaches, apples, bananas, oranges, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, and watermelon, but I wouldn't consider them to be dietary weaknesses, because I've never eaten more than 500 calories of them in one sitting by accident, like the above.

Raisins and nuts could be dangerous, but I'm aware of the dangers, so I stay away from them except as a topping on breads, cereals, or salads.

I love chocolate cake and brownies, but I'm usually able to stop after one piece.

For me, ice cream, and homemade baked goods. I am starting to find that store bought cookies and cakes just aren't that tasty or worth it anymore. But bake up some homemade chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, banana bread, or an excellent cake, and it takes all the will power in the world I can muster to resist.

That and Haagen Daas pints are evil.

ANYTHING sweet (chocolate - especially combined with mint, cookies, cakes, you name it)!!! I stopped buying any of them because I can't control myself when they're in my house...just knowing that sweets are around makes me crave them.

oh, and anything deep fried is difficult to resist too...once it's on my plate. luckily enough I have enough discipline to make sure that nothing deep fried ends up there.

in short, if let lose I would turn into a deep-fried cookie monster!

Also, cookies or cake of any kind. If it is there, I find it really hard to resist.

One food, and one food only "owns" me.

I absolutely have no control when I eat pizza.I binge eat if i work it in as my cheat meal, and if i manage to have some control, there are always leftovers to deal with... I had to completely cut it out of my diet to be sucessful on my cut. It almost broke my heart. That stuff is like heroin or cocaine to me.

Anything else, donuts, icecream, whatever; It's not so much of an issue simply because i'm of the mind "well if i'm going to cheat on anything, I'd cheat on a pizza, by god..."

But yeah, I plan on consuming an entire super giantic extra large pizza the moment I hit my goal, it's my reward.

I hear ya there. If there is still pizza im still eating.... so now when we order we just get enough to make a reasonable meal, none of this leftover stuff.
I don't deprive myself, I just order a personal size pizza for myself, a small-medium for me and my girlfriend to split, or go out and grab a slice (or two) then quickly leave and eat it somewhere else so im not tempted to buy more.

Dark chocolate and peanut butter... mmmm.

My wife loves nutella and keeps a jar in the house. That's a tough one to avoid for me as well.

I'm a big fan of thick cut crunchy potato chips. Salt n vinegar...

Pasta can kill me... I try to really limit it because it is not very filling for me - I grew up eating 2 plates of pasta at a meal... no wonder I was fat :)

Pizza is also a weakness...

Beer as well... although I've been really good at avoiding alchohol consumption lately - it helps that my wife doesn't drink.

I eat a lot... but I think most of the stuff I binge on is fairly healthy and doesn't negatively affect my diet.

On the healthy side, Peanut Butter. I ate about 1/3 of a jar before logging in here. If you buy Adams, "I like to reuse the glass jars to marinate chicken." is also just too easy of an excuse to eat the stuff by the ton.

On the not so healthy side...pizza. I'm glad I'm not alone in losing all control around pizza. Even if it's bad pizza, it's good pizza, and I just eat and eat until I feel like dogshit, and then I eat some more. It's the one food that I want to keep eating no matter how full I get.

Gotta start staying away from beer too, because beer is often followed by a drunken pizza order.

I never ate much sweats when I was heavy but when I am dieting I crave them. i.e. german chocolate cake

It has always been Burger King, Tex-Mex, and Chinese for me. Hell any eating out doesn't bode well for me. I can never seem to order just the plain chicken sandwhich.

As far as healthy. I bought a huge bag of mixed dried fruit and nuts that I keep in the car. Once I start I really have to watch myself.

Something to think about...

Peanut butter is loaded with Omega-6

Just watched a doc the other night on CNN. It was about obesity in North America.

They trotted out this research file that said:-

The excessive intake of Omega-6 will cancel out the effects and reduce the abilty of your existing Omega-3.

Tortilla chips and salsa. The fact that they are free appetizers here in Texas appeal to my cheapskate side as well. Absolutely deadly. Kryptonite is the right word.

Since I know the salsa is not a bad diet item, my only resistance technique is to get the really hot stuff and load it on each chip. That has a self-limiting effect once I start sweating.

Why not peanut butter? how come its a steer clear for everyone?

For those seeking to eat a diet with a proper balance of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids, peanut butter should be eaten sparingly since it contains a ton of omega-6.

Simply saying peanut butter is a "healthy fat" is short sighted in my opinion.

You can probably maintain a healthy ratio by drinking fish oil by the cup full and eating and breathing salmon, tuna, walnuts, flax, etc. :)

I eat peanut butter, natural Smucker's brand.. I love it but I only eat it two or three times a week, and I get 5 grams of EPA/DHA every day.

Fortunately, I don't get the chance to indulge like when I was single--my wife won't let me. :) She does her best to prepare healthful meals for us and the kids.

The one thing I'll really go crazy with sometimes is...you guessed it, pizza. The scary thing is when she and the kids go out of town. When this happens, I really get into the "situational eating". When I was single, I developed the really bad habit of eating while watching TV.

So, when I get one of those rare chances to be alone and do whatever I want to, I tend to go back to my old ways, when I used to pair the following food and shows:

Chinese food with Ultimate Fighting Championship events/martial arts movies.

Pizza (lots and lots) and Diet (!) Pepsi with WWF rasslin', or Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Big fat burritos and churros from "El Famos Burrito" with any kind of movie.

Brown's Chicken (w/fries, mac & cheese, and biscuit!) with sci-fi movies.

Entire king size Hershey Bars and popcorn with movie rentals, before Netflix. Damn you, Blockbuster store with your chocolatey goodness!

And once I made and ate an entire package of Pillsbury cinnamon rolls while watching movies.

Sheesh. Good thing they don't go out of town often. :)

Dark beer. The darker, the better. If I have to chew it, it's just right. Sadly, "lite" beer and dark beer are oxymorons.

Corona makes a light beer with 96 calories that tastes like Corona. Becks Light is something like 65 calories. Not a wise choice when cutting, but one or two of those once a week isn't going to wreck a diet. Again though, not dark enough for me.

Forgot to add those Beef and Potato burritos from Taco Bell. Yeah, they are nothing like homemade but they are so damn tasty! I limit Taco Bell to once every few months because I'll order three of them and make myself sick.

-Definately fruits. They don't give me a "full sensation", they're absolutely delicious, and my house seems to have a larger quantity of them than a tropical island at all times. The want to devour the conglomeration of tropical island fruit stores present in my kitchen is irresistable at times.

-Nuts and nut butters. Nearly everyone's mentioned them, and I'm no exception. A half jar of peanut butter? Enjoyed it like you couldn't believe. Entire containers of almonds? Bring on the peanuts.

-Pasta and rice. Two staples of some of my favorites: Italian cooking and Chinese cooking. I swear, my love for pasta dishes and for mixing rice in with about anything must be unrivaled, and so to is my appetite for these carb loaders. I opt for the wholewheat/brown varieties, but when I consume larger quantities of rice than the whole of china or a more prodigal bowl of pasta than ever even thought of across the sea in the boot, the color of my beloved carb sources does little to assuage my guilt.

Homemade pies/cakes/etc. Invariably, there is a cake, pie, plate of cookies, box of fudge present in my kitchen. They're made for a constant stream 'special occassions' and are mind-blowingly tasty and satisfying. Their harmfulness is blunt, so I don't, say, eat a whole pie or devour twenty cookies in one sitting, but even small portions are kryptonite when they, and their will-breaking lure, are constantly at my luxury.

For a minute there I thought I had no food weakness. I've been eating very clean. I've been to parties with tons of food, chips, candy, appetizers, etc... and I have been able to avoid them no problem. (Even on cheat days) No cravings, no irresistable urges to snack. I've been good.

Then today I'm in my office eating grilled chicken with spaghetti squash and someone walks in with Fried Chicken. I'm not a big fan of fried chicken, but my mouth started watering and the fat guy inside me wanted out, BAD. I think I've found my Kryptonite. It's fried chicken. It smelled so good. I'm glad the guy who had it wasn't someone I was close enough with to ask for a bite. :)
