Im currently on a 2 day split right now. This is an 8 week routine ive put together just to get me started.

after my 8 week routine, im planning to take a week off & shift to 3 days a week with a push/pull/legs split & then in another 8 weeks rack my last routine up to 4 days a week.

I currently have a bulk diet in place ready to go but is it worth following it religiously right now on just 2 days a week as just 2 days a week don't seem like a strict diet is necessary.

would it really make a difference right now?

I would suggest making your two lifting days your high calorie days. The 2 days after your lifting should also be high calories to help recover, the other 3 days can be moderate calorie days. Make sure on those 4 days of higher calories you eat a lot to allow for full recovery. On the other days just make sure you eat clean and quality foods, I'd say around maintenance calories or slightly above it.

thanks chang, i do eat a lot still and try not to make my callories drop anywhere near to a low level, i just know i could eat much more right now & i am still on a super squeeky clean diet everyday of the week, i only ever eat the following.

peanut butter (YIPPEE i found the natural stuff finally, it tastes better & can easily tell the difference between the two)

chicken breast
wholemeal bread
Oats & other barious sugar free cerials
Tuna/Salmon/Sardines/Haddock
mix of veggies
Whey protein shakes
Pairs/Bananas/Apples
Multivitamins/Codliver fish oil capsules
Semi skimmed milk
Steak & the occasional red meat
Garlic salt

All the above is everything i eat through out the whole week, i just need to plan it out better.
