I just began my first cut ever nearly 2 weeks ago, and have been feeling not hungry to the point of almost disgust at the thought of eating even an apple. I can barely choke down a nutrigrain bar in the morning, and really don't feel hungry until late afternoon. All I ate today was a Nutrigrain bar at 1000, an apple at 1400, slice of bread with pb after 45 min of LISS cardio at 2030. i'm going to be up for another 4 hours, and plan on having some frozen grilled chicken, slice of bread, lettuce, celery and a tbs of BBQ sauce (my weakness.)

I've seen quite a bit of progress in my cut (already 4 lbs) and am worried that that might be muscle. (i haven't been able to do any wt, still have to find a way to fit it in my schedule.)

I should start eating in the morning, huh?

What does your current weekly routine look like? Also, what does your daily diet look like?

So, you are eating hardly any food, not doing any weight training, but you are doing LISS. Yup, if you were going to design a perfect routine for losing muscle, this would be it.

First, get your diet in check .... stick with whole foods as much as possible and ditch the Nutrigrain bars (see stickies in beginner forum), and start weight training. If you can't fit weight training into your schedule, then I would hold off on your cut until you CAN fit it into your schedule.

To put it bluntly, you are setting yourself up for failure. Don't feel bad though ... lots of people on this forum have made the same mistakes you are making. The nice thing is that they've learned from their mistakes, and have shared their knowledge with the rest of us. Take advantage of that you will be very successful. Good luck! :tucool:

Forget the bbq sauce, your weakness appears to be not eating.

Prioritize the weight training over the LISS cardio. If you can only fit one in, go with the weight training. This is assuming you're going to start eating again.

From my limited experience, if I lift weights three times a week I am hungry basically all the time on a cut of 2000 calories. Hungry before I eat, hungry after I eat, hungry when I wake up, hungry when I go to bed. Totally unlike when I was limiting calories and just doing cardio.

I had the same problem but i shouldn't last forever, i think its just a phase you might be going through because your worrying about it all the time, this sometimes happened to me, i kept on wanting to eat because i felt i had to so i never felt the want to.

Personally, i put mine down to not getting enough water intake & possibly over training & then a was ok.

Every morning, i still dont feel hungry though, never have done, never will do, so i turned to my only hero the almighty blending machine & whisked my breakfast up instead of eating it whole. As horrible as it may sound, it actually doesnt taste that bad providing you mix the right stuff up.

And the most important advice of all , DITCH those nutrigrain bars right now, believe me when i tell you from my own experience about nutrigrain bars, they are absolutely no good for you, they are full of chemicals & sugars which will make you fatigued & tire you out because of whats in them. They are also full of preservatives like those sandwiches you buy from gas stations which stop you from feeling hungry even more, thats the idea of them, theres no good nutrition in them, its the crappy artificial preservatives in them that makes you feel full, not the amount of them you eat.

I never done a cutting cycle so all my advice might be nonsense, however, this happened to me when i was cardio fit, before i started even lifting weights.

Get plenty of water & eat clean & see how you feel.

Good luck my friend :tu:
