View Full Version : Chest Woes... Xyphere June 6th, 2007, 10:11 PM .. ZJC June 6th, 2007, 11:19 PM I would think that you just need to build some more muscle mass and that should tighten the loose skin. jchantelau June 6th, 2007, 11:37 PM I think there is hope but what chest exercises are you doing now? By the way you look great fantastic transformation!:claphigh: FiDdyNiCk June 7th, 2007, 01:32 AM i too am having trouble building lower chest, like you... i do flat,incline,decline,DBfly... decline/dips doesn't cut it, i need more.. we both need a good chest workout advice on a good routine for chest day??? Xyphere June 7th, 2007, 08:00 AM I think there is hope but what chest exercises are you doing now? By the way you look great fantastic transformation!:claphigh: I have a bowflex at home so I do mainly the "chest press", Chest Flys, (another excercise where you lay on your back and pull the up and over your head and down your chest), and push ups and that sort of stuff. jchantelau June 7th, 2007, 11:08 AM Those are all good exercises. Problems with loose skin do take some time to tighten up. One thing that I would suggest is if your doing the same chest routine over and over again you need to switch it up a bit. I have a couple of different chest workouts that I rotate on my routine. I even change up the intensity and the weight I push or pull for each. Most importantly be consistent and give it some time. Check this link (http://www.exrx.net/Lists/ExList/ChestWt.html) out for some additional chest exercises. HevyMetal June 10th, 2007, 03:05 PM Dips.....when you can do 8 in row, start weighting them. (regular dip station). Dumbell Flat Bench Press. Incline Smith To-the-neck Bench press. Straight-arm Flyes on a flat bench. Because they're straight-arm use lighter weight and go for higher reps. If you're Deadlifting, don't do any chest work after Deads on that day. Bench Dips with feet elevated.....can weight them when you get proficient. However....not sure how you're going to get rid of that little bit of hooter-flab. Novabound08 June 12th, 2007, 12:58 AM Great transformation and I am sure the skin will continue to tighten up. I wouldnt go cosmetic yet, thats for sure. As for expanding the chest via chest movements: Flat/Incline/Decline-Barbell/Dumbbell Press - CHOOSE 1 DUMBBELL PULLOVERS/(WEIGHTED) DIPS- CHOOSE 1 (these are great chest exercising...Arnold is on record saying dumbbell pullovers were the most useful lift in helping his chest expand) Cable Crossovers/Flies- CHOOSE 1 and then switch it up the following week, for example: Week 1: Flat Bench- 4 sets Dumbbell Pullovers- 3 sets Cable Crossovers- 3 sets Tricep Work... Week 2: Incline Bench- 4 sets Weighted Dips- 3 sets Decline Flies- 3 sets Tricep Work... Novabound08 June 12th, 2007, 01:02 AM Also search gynecomastia. While it appears your lose skin is solely from your weight lose, there is a condition out there you might want to read up on. Personally, I would continue dieting/bulking, lifting heavy, and maybe your loose skin will tighten up over time. Goodluck. StuartM June 12th, 2007, 08:39 AM I don't know what to suggest regarding your chest area. However, one thing I would like to add to this is that your transformation is, quite frankly, staggering. :tucool: Xyphere June 19th, 2007, 06:40 PM Alrighty guys... I'm going try out some of your tips. Thanks for the help... I just hope this works. Xyphere July 8th, 2007, 09:19 PM Eh. After losing my mind over this the past couple weeks, I've come to the realization that there's just too much loose skin for me to be able to do anything about it. I don't want a huge chest or anything, I just want to look normal. There's just too much extra skin, though. It would take a ridiculous amount of bulking in order to make my chest look even semi-normal now. Thanks for your help everyone, but I'm pretty much screwed until I get older and can have cosmetic work done. mattback July 9th, 2007, 03:13 AM Eh. Xyphere July 9th, 2007, 01:39 PM Well, if you're convined that I can turn this around.. My chest is just so low it doesn't really seem like anything can be done. I'll keep at it though. Regarding cardio though, normally I run 5-6 miles (5 days a week) at a 6mph pace on my treadmill.. should I bump it up or tone it done if I'm going to try and get my chest back to normal? And regarding my diet, I eat pretty well. I eat a lot of lean meat like chicken and tuna and I eat a lot of fruit and veggies. I don't have an exact chart of what I eat day to day, but I'm eating healthy food and good portions. I'd say that I'm eating about 2000 calories a day. I' drink a lot of water as well. EDIT: Oh, and I since I went on my weightloss rampage, I've been drinking a LOT of fat free milk. Heck, if my mom ever brings 2% home I absolutely refuse to drink it. |
