I've been searching the net now for about 15min and i can't really find alot of info on DB hang cleans.

I seen a few pics using only one arm. I just done 4x5 using more of a neutral grip with the bells by my sides but i believe i might of been curling them too much. I also was push pressing them.

My main objective for this movement is the shoulders and traps. I'm thinking i will have to come up higher with them before i turn my wrists.

Do you guys think i should take them from the floor instead? I would get a much better "high pull" but maybe my legs will take on too much of the work..This is my main excercise for my shoulder workout.

Thoughts?

I would think cleans of any kind are normally posterior chain dominant.

Maybe an incline bench supported row is more what you are looking for.

Or t-bar barbell rows?

That kind of goes back to the "muscle clean", where you do a high pull more like an upright row to start, with a more stationary body instead of pulling with the posterior chain I suspect.

Just read this article (http://www.t-nation.com/readTopic.do;jsessionid=F7E0FE868FFA1B5F5AC7737D37 F7BFE2.hydra?id=1597765) by Christian Thibaudeau describing a muscle clean/push press.

True but i'm doing more of a muscle clean with very little lower body action.
