Good videos.

It's obvious Layne doesn't train at Planet FItness ;)

Looks like it's going to be a good series. My only real qualm with it is that it's pretty repetitive.

I just finished the second one and yea they reuse a lot of training clips. Hopefully as the show progresses they'll get new ones.

Layne is well spoken and fun to listen to. It's nice to think that with hard work and a smart approach, you can achieve a physique at that caliber.

The interesting part is his routine. He does VERY high volume. Two hour sessions is the norm for him. It works for him though and something tells me that he has the nutrition on point to make that type of volume work.

I do have to say that if their was someone in my gym "acting" like that I would come back and post about him.

I wonder if that's conventional. Here's a video from his youtube of him trap bar deading 555 for 5. :spaz:

I actually wondered that myself because I had previously seen him doing deads with the trap bar. Another thing that makes me wonder is that his dead numbers are really high, and his bench and squat are decent, but not huge.

Initially, I questioned whether he could fit 625 on a trap bar, but then I noticed that it was a calculated 1RM. 5x555 actually brings up a calculated 1RM or 624, so that's probably what he's basing his numbers on. Not to take anything away from him, a 555 pound trap bar dead is pretty serious.

Agreed on the 5x5 with 555 is pretty solid, but I wonder if he ever lifts conventional. Is there any relation between the two lifts in terms of poundage?

Anyways, I thought it was a pretty good episode this week. Got me ready to go for my workout! Also, there's new footage (as well as recycled footage):spaz:
