I sometimes wake up late on weekends (11am, noon, maybe 1pm). By doing this, does it mean i should consume slightly less calories throughout the fewer hours I am awake? Because I think I would burn less too, right?

How much sleep do you get throughout the week? There might be a reason your body wants to catch up on the weekend. Another big factor would be your activity level during the hours you are awake. I wouldn't adjust calories based on a few extra hours of sleep on weekends alone. zipeee June 6th, 2007, 03:37 PM I sometimes wake up late on weekends (11am, noon, maybe 1pm). By doing this, does it mean i should consume slightly less calories throughout the fewer hours I am awake? Because I think I would burn less too, right? Studies show that lack of sleep increases appetite, and people who are chronically overtired tend to gorge more--especially on high carb foods to raise seratonin levels. cabster21 June 8th, 2007, 12:30 PM Surely it would depend more on how many hours you're awake, and what your needs are. If you're someone who looks to take a meal of say 350cal every 3 hours, then do that while you're awake? I also have an awful sleeping pattern, I work late into the morning, get to sleep about 6 am some days. Then sleep most of the day. |
