The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society needs your help!

In order to raise money I am running the Nike San Francisco Marathon on October 21st, 2007. Team in Training allows participants to set a goal for fundraising, and running or walking a marathon, a triathlon, or 100 mile bike race for the cause. A goal amount of money is needed to participate in the event. I am hoping to raise at least $4200. $2 per mile is a suggested donation, but any amount is appreciated!

The money raised will go towards leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma research and patient services.

This is my URL to donate:

Here you can find more information on the society.

If you are able to donate, please pm me so I know who you are! (unless of course you wish to remain anonymous)

Also, if there is anyone else on there boards who is also doing Team in Training I will split the money with you equally..

Thank you for all your support! :)

Hello all,

Just an update on my progress with getting ready for the Nike San Francisco marathon on October 21st for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's team in training.

Just a quick thank you to all who have donated so far, your help is infinitely appreciated. If you are able to donate remember any amount is appreciated, even if you are only able to give $5 or $10 it is enough to purchase life-saving medical equipment for those afllicted by Leukemia.

I am now up to 9-10 miles for my long runs every Saturday, and anticipate increasing these distances to prepare for the long haul ahead. I feel like I can go for it now, and can't wait to be there with all the excited participants, but am being careful to not get injured and keep the runs short during the week to heal properly. It really is a great opportunity to participate in this, it has also given me a chance to meet many others going for the same goal who know how to accomplish something such as this. I've been a runner all my life but now I can see there's other running "addicts" out there too. It really is a great way to burn off stress at the end of the day. The 5:30AM runs, now that's another story.

Hey there.. I was just about to search the site for marathons info.

I too joined Team in Training and will be running the Chicago Marathon in October. This will be my first marathon. I'm running it in honor of my grand mother whom was just diagnosed with Lymphoma about a month ago.

Good luck with the training!
