I lift weights in the afternoon and then do 30-40 minutes of cardio right after..
I know you have to eat simple carbs and protein after weight training. I also know its good to wait a while after cardio to eat.. So if I do them back to back when do I eat?

If you :bb: and did a Cardio session after , then consume your Post Workout ( food or shake ) right after you finished cardio ( your muscles need those carbs and protein ASAP) .

I have a question about this matter aswell. What are some good PWO food choices? I know you have to eat simple carbs after a good workout, but im guessing ice cream and cake is not a good option (if you're cutting anyways).
Or is a PWO shake the only really good option?

Or is a PWO shake the only really good option? No, you could have plenty of things, including a banana before the workout, since food takes a long while to digest.
To answer the original poster, don't worry about the timing of this and I've never heard not to eat right after cardio. I almost invariably eat right after cardio and see superb results in fat loss and fitness gains.

yes, but what kinds of food to eat right after weightlifting? Im guessing whole foods are not a good choice because they digest too slowly and the body needs carbs quickly.

If you ever have the time and desire, try seperating your cardio (aerobic activity) from your weight training (anaerobic activity) as they both address different goals. As well, the way in which you eat (or actually SHOULD EAT) after both forms of activity, also contribute a great deal to the progress you will see in both areas as well as the expedience of both.
