looking at the scale and mirror, it has become really apparant that i gained 8lbs... I spent last summer trimming and ended up losing ~60lbs (lowest weight i got to was 148lbs). I now have a problem however; i really fear gaining weight again but for some reason i'm not nearly as motivated as i was last year... if anyone has had a similar expirence please tell me how you resolved that... Also it seems that my body has gotten used to lots of LISS since eatting @ ~maintanence level without excercise, i continually gain weigh... I truly loved the healthy cardio lifestyle that i've been living for a while but sometimes there isn't always time to workout and i would like to know if it's possible to not gain weight without excercise... Perhaps it could be the foods i've been eatting?
I have been eatting a lot cereal lately.. could that be it?
any feedback will be much appreciated, thanks.

if you are eating to much cereal that might have something to do with it. However in your post you didn't give much info on the rest of your diet. if you could give us some more info it may be much easier to help :)

well i haven't a detailed log but i have been eatting lots of whole wheat bread, veggies, moderate amounts of meat and almost no fruits... Again, i wish i had better details but i don't quite remember what i ate besides that most if it (i consider) healthy.

See that is a tricky statement. I thought I was eating "healthy", salads, chicken, and so on. As it turns out I was still taking in like 35%+ fat daily, and that was on a good day. You need to start using http://www.fitday.com , and track your diet using that tool. You will be surprised how much crap you are eating that you thought was healthy.

As far as motivation goes, there is no magical pill. Just start exercising, and set some kind of goal for yourself, and remember plateaus and stale periods happen. If this stuff was easy we would all look like Spartan Soldiers right ?
Also Muscle and Fitness magazine has a good meal plan in this months issue, as does Flex. :eat:
PM or IM me with questions, I'm kind of a fitness nub compared to others on here, but I've read a ton of the forums here and literature so I can offer some help... Or just read John's food logs... they're great!

If you are eating maintance you wouldn't gain weight. Gaining weight means you are eating more.
The question is why?
Either you are eating more then you think or you have a lower expenditure then you thought.
If all you did was drop the LISS without dropping calories by a similar amount then that's the obvious problem.

There is NO such thing as 'uncontrollable' weight gain. You either eat too much, don't exercise enough, or you have a medical problem (and by you, I don't mean YOU ;))
I suggest you clean your diet up and rework an exercise routine if you are truthfully worried about your weight gain.
"A lot" of cereal should not be a staple for anyone. It sounds like you are simply falling back towards your old habits and unaware of how much you're eating.
