I don't count calories and I generally try to ignore that side of healthy being as I'm 15 (not much of an excuse but anyway). I just try and get some fruit, veg, carbs and meat every day in a relatively healthy form and I'm happy. But it feels like the healthier I try and eat the more bad food I consume ... really bad food. I have no self control and while I understand you can't teach that, is there anyway I can stop myself? Also, are there any quick, harmless foods you can eat daily as snackfood because I'm struggling to find something to eat in between meals.

I usually eat something like this -
7.30am sultana bran w. low fat milk, sliced banana
11.10am fruit and yoghurt
1.00pm wholegrain sandwhich (salad and cold meat) or vegetable soup or ryvita's with tuna - and fruit
dinner (anywhere between 6pm - 8pm) CSIRO meal from the book

I go to the gym after school at about 4.30 so I don't eat when I get home or to soon afterwards if I can help it - and I know that isn't an ideal meal plan but you can't really sneak food in between classes so the gaps between meals are strange because of school.

Anytime when someone has the food near me I crave it - and it's a school with a junky cafeteria... If it wasn't there I wouldn't want it obviously, but because it is I'm like ''attack!''

drink lots of water... make sure your getting enough good fats and good carbs... most of the time when our bodies crave something it's because we are not getting enough of it in our diets... carry around a small ziplock with peanuts & almonds in it... eat one or two at a time and really chew them... don't just eat them to eat them... if you know what I mean... enjoy them ;)

also... what do you typically eat during the day? times & amounts would help if you can remember... a lot of women mistakenly think that eating healthy means eating the tiniest amounts and they end up not eating enough... if this is the case with you it may just be that you are not eating enough and that's why you're craving everything... a good, written out plan for when you need to eat what really does help and keeps me from craving things ;)

what activities do you do? do you lift? do you do cardio? any information you can give us will help us help you ;)

The cravings will come cuz yeah fat and sugar tastes good. Occasional "bad food" is ok lets say one or even two meals a week. Ideally for snacks you want to eat something along the lines of fruits or greens. You can eat nuts, peanut butter (you can even make a sandwich on wheat or raisin bread), pretzels, beef jerkey, granola with honey, a protein shake with fruits in it if you like. The list goes on and on learn to read labels and notice how much fat, carbs, protein, vitamins, etc are in it. Also, read the ingredients a lot of foods sound healthy but when you read what's in it, its not healthy at all.

beef jerkey,

Gotta watch out with that one...

I've seen jerky that's damn near fat free (Jack Link's for example) and I've seen jerky with 40-50% calories from fat (mostly saturated)...which may or may not be a bad thing at any given time.

And of course it's high sodium, so if you're watching that...

When do you get the cravings?
