originally i was cutting from 230lbs, realy high body fat. i got down to 190lbs. stopped for a bit then started back. cutting for about 3 months, lost like 20lbs and took a break. just recently found out i was gettin fat again so i wanna start cutting again. im only in my teens so i have troubles with gettin healthy foods. i was wondering if all i did was work out and do cardio, would i still lose weight eating things like, white bread, burgers, cereal (honeycomb etc.) and that sort of stuff. or do i gotta beg my parents to buy healthy foods. also, could energy drinks affect my progress?

You honestly have to beg them to buy healthy food or atleast a healthier alternative?

You can definitely lose weight by just working out, but it is only going to take you so far. To lose good amounts of BF, you are going to need to cut alot of bad food out of your diet and take in alot of good food.

Energy drinks will likely affect your progess. Drink water, lots of it.

Even healthy foods won't help if you eat too much.

If you are really stuck eating badly then you need very good portion control.

OTOH you might be able to make small changes.

Home made burgers don't have to be bad for you. Use leaner ground beef.

You can find healthier cereals.

Firstly congrats on your weight loss success.

Yes, you can still lose weight while eating the mentioned food items. Hack you can even lose weight on a Macdonalds only diet. It will be much easier by eating healthy food though due to junk food being so calorie dense most of the time.

You may not have full control of your nutrition, but
I'm sure you can have at least some influence in your parents buying choices. No need to resort to begging.
If your parents are clueless about nutrition I would not start with asking for protein powder (I've actually heard some parents think that whey=steroids...), but buying some healthier full wheat bread, cereals which are not 50% white sugar, leaner cuts of meats ect...
should not be such a tough sell normally. You can also ask to control your own grocery budget for the items that don't require cooking.

Btw : Is it just me or is there a little yo-yo effect with your weight? What happens when you finish your cutting stage? do you go back to "normal" eating?

Wouldn't your parents support the buying of healthier foods? See that your taking an interest in your well being :)

How old are you? When I was a teen I had access to a bit of money of my own and could get myself to a grocery store. Are neither of those things true for you?

i guess it just comes down to whats more important to you... buying a guitar or living a healthy lifestyle. Why don't you have a talk with your parents? you may be suprised at the outcome...

I suppose you could lose weight eating unhealthy foods. However, now is an excellent time for you to be learning to love eating clean. I find it a bit difficult to believe that your folks won't buy eggs, oatmeal and fresh veggies (although I suppose that could certainly be the case) so you could start by asking them.

If you can't get them to buy some fresh healthy foods, then a little investment might be worth it. You can still save up for the guitar.

Either way, you are going to make some kind of sacrifice. Pick which one you want to make. It's good practice for life.
