Hi guys, I was doing shoulders and I attempted a weight that was too heavy. Now I have pain in my right shoulder, its a slight pain, I can still do shoulder exercises but everytime I do a shoulder movement I feel a slight pinching pain. Its not too serious where I cant move at all, its juss a slight pain if I do shoulder movements, what should I do about this?

Rest up...or risk doing more damage and being out for longer.

I've damaged my left rotatory cuff, it's pretty much affecting all chest and shoulder exercises and is even making me weary of doing exercises that involve lifting and holding weights (i.e. free weights).

I would try this (http://forums.johnstonefitness.com/showpost.php?p=408944&postcount=2). It's helped me overcome an injury in about a months time. Read the whole thing. The first 4 weeks are a rehab program.

If it gets pretty bad you should probably see an orthopedic surgeon. I injured my left shoulder several years ago and never bothered to see anyone about it. It gradually got worse and eventually to a point where using my left arm was next to impossible because of the searing pain I had. Turns out I dislocated my arm and scraped the articulating surface of my humerus across my labrum, causing my glenoid to lose suction and allowing my arm to continuously fall out of socket. I had to have surgery to have it repaired and had a nice 6-month recovery.

So anyway, if you have health insurance you may want to get it checked before it turns into something worse.

Can I ask which lift was it? Or was it the entire shoulder workout in general? How experienced are you at that lift form wise?

I know theres some shoulder lifts, such as the L-Fly where you want to keep the weight low and never go to failure.

It was a shoulder dumbell press, I have good form and Ive been lifting for a while. I injuried because I tried to do a weight that was too heavy for me. I get the pain if I attempt any shoulder exercise.
