Anyone planning to watch UFC 71: Liddell vs Jackson?

Liddell has improved quite a bit since his last fight against Jackson, but I can still see history repeating itself.

Any Iceman fans got something to say? :neener:

Iceman is going to win. Jackson is good, but Liddell has really proven himself to be an elite fighter with some very impressive wins recently. History will not repeat itself this time :nope:

Its going to be a one round all out flying fists of fury bout with Iceman walking away and Rampage being helped up from the floor by his cornermen.

I don't know guys. Remember that Rampage is used to fighting master strikers in Pride, something that the UFC's light heavyweight division is kinda lacking at the moment (except for Liddell). I totally agree that it's going to be a slug fest, being that Jackson is can hit pretty hard too. Liddell hasn't faced a heavy hiter for a very long time.

Damn, I can't wait till next week!

i keep thinking of Holyfield vs Bowie when I think of this fight. I want lidell to win, but i think rampage has the fight.

Well I would say Liddell will destroy Rampage... But it seems everything I think will happen in the UFC turns out the complete oposite... cro cop, saint pierre, etc.

True dat!

I wanna see GSP get his belt back. It also sucks to have to wait who-knows-how-long for a Couture vs Cro-Cop fight. That would've been one of the greatest match-ups ever! Damn Gonzaga and his lucky kick.:bang:

I think we'll see a Couture Fedor fight before a Couture Crocop throw down. That is, if Randy would dare sign on to fight best in the world (Fedor) which I doubt he would.

This isn't Tito we're talking about. I don't think Randy would back down from fighting Fedor if he had to, though he'd have little chance of winning. Randy is the man, but Fedor is just TOO good.

So....anybody watch the Liddell-Jackson fight? I gotta say, I am pretty shocked by the outcome.

I TOLD YOU SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Chuck hasn't faced a good striker in a LONG time, just like I said before. Chuck has had it easy against guys like Tito or Babalu, but he can't hang with the REAL big dogs taking over the UFC from Pride. It's just beginning. Sorry to say it, but I doubt Chuck will ever be the champ again. Now with Dan Henderson and possibly others coming over from Pride Chuck Liddell as we knew him will never exist again.

I'm not surprised in the least. My only surprise is that Rampage won so soon. I predicted Rampage finishing Chuck off in the late rounds with his superior conditioning.

Yes....I am reluctantly eating my bowl of crow

I dunno man....I'm not sure if I would totally count Chuck out just yet. Fight outcomes are often determined by style, and it may be that Rampage just has Chuck's number.

But, here is what I WOULD like to see....Shogun in the UFC. IMO, he is the best 205-er in the world....he'd really shake things up for sure.

Yeah.....I think this is what really surprised me. Rampage is a great fighter, but I was surprised that it ended in the first round. I think Chuck is so used to fighting grapplers that he got a little sloppy when going in for that body shot. Rampage countered with a perfect shot.

You hit right on with that comment. Liddell hasn't had to worry about getting hit in his UFC fights. Only someone like Rampage could've done damage to Chuck with that shot. Tito landed a couple of good shots in their last fight as was the case in Chucks other fights, but no one in the UFC hits hard enough to even phase the Iceman.

I predict that with all the top guys that the UFC is bringing over from Pride, we'll never see Liddell wear the title belt ever again. Have you seen how badly Wanderlei and Mauricio Ruas beat Rampage in their fights in Pride? Even if Chuck manages to figure out a way to beat Rampage (my only guess would be stuffing his gloves with lead), he'd get destroyed by Henderson, Shogun, or Wanderlei. Basically, a major changing of the guard has occured. Don't even get me started on the likely possibility of Fedor coming to clean out the heavyweight division.

What marvelous days we're living in my friends!

Yes...and it wasn't pretty. Rampage ate about 20 knees to the face from Wandy....and even fell out of the ring in one of their fights...and Shogun absolutely destroyed him from start to finish. Chute box has some amazing fighters.

Hah... I thought Lidell was going to do much better than he did. How would you describe the look on his face after? He was very confused.

Like Rampage said he has ALOT better coaches this time around compared to when he was in Pride.

As far as Fedor i dunno if it'll happen all i hear is he wants an open contract and UFC wants him to only be fighting in the UFC and not in Bodog and other Organizations.
