I have been thinking that I eat about 2000 kcal every day

I just made a homepage where I can put my meals into a database and it calculates everything for me based on a food database I've created

kcal today: 3500 (my BMR is 2760)

is this much?

I managed to sustain this ratio without thinking about it:

37% protein, 49% carbs, 14% fat

I also ate about 39 grams of fiber today

I know there is too much carbs and too little fat

but what do you think? I walk for 60 minutes everyday, keeping my heart rate above 105, I go to the gym 3 times a week and do a very good workout with the weights there :)

hehe well I've only been estimating the calories for a month now

I'll just have to cut in on some stuff, like the milk, and maybe the pasta

I can clearly see on the homepage what is making this so much calories

anyways, I haven't GAINED that much (fat) from it, since I've lost about 8 pounds since I started, and also gained some muscle

i had the same problem when i first started to be a more "concious" eater.... i thought i was doin it allright unitl i put it all together and saw that i was eatin way to much... you really have to be concious of what you are eating or the weight can really sneak up on you... last year i thought i was eating clean and i gained about 25...and not the good kind...but the good thing is that once you have been closely monitoring what you are eating it gets easier.... :tu:

yeah

how are you guys monitoring what you eat? is anything automated?

I found a webpage (with swedish stuff, yeah! - I'm swedish :P) that lists most foods, and also how much FIBER it is in the foods

Combined with the GI I find in books and on lists on the web, I've made a small database on my personal web server, all the foods containing fiber and GI-data

then all I have to do is select the food, enter how many grams I ate, and when I ate the meal, after that the script lists average GI for THE MEAL, and for THE DAY, total fibers, etc etc etc

lots of GOODSHIT that makes this so much easier

Over what time period was this? If it was over 2 months then I say stick with what your doing because you seem to be getting results. As long as you are eating healthy, nutritious food to get to that 3500cals keep doing it until the results cease and then start reducing your intake.

Yeah I'm getting results, I'm still gonna reduce the milk I'm drinking right now - 1300 of the calories came strictly from MILK :)

never thought about how much calories the milk contained - now I am though :D

I suppose that isnt that much. I only use milk for my protein shakes and cereal now but when I was younger I would go through a whole carton of milk occassionaly. Thats no fat milk though, not full cream. :p
