Hi all, I'm new to the forum and started working out regularly again...I have done this a few times and sometimes with no success due to lack of motivation, this time around i'm a bit more motivated and doing thing properly. I have semi-started eating a bit more healthier, limited portions on what I eat; I tended to eat more than I needed. Well I'm 5'10 and always been slim, my top weight ever has been 158lbs. Over the past couple of year i've seen my midsection just get a bit rounder compared to the rest of my body and thats what has me motivated. In the past 2 weeks I've lost about 4lbs and my stomach doesnt seem as round...yay for me as one of my college friends used to say.

My question comes in what excersise can i do to strengthen my lower back, as when I do ab workouts and some upper back workouts it feels a bit uncomfortable and I limit myself to the amount of weight I can lift and the type of excersise that I do. I would like to feel more comfortable that my lower back is strong and I wont get injured while doing some excersises. Any advise would be gladly appreciated. So far what I've read has been a great help for me, in the supplements, nutrition, and other areas.

Here's a good link to lower back excercises and workout construction incorporating erector spinae strengthening. (http://www.exrx.net/ExInfo/LowBack.html)
