Hey there, I've been reading the forums for a little while now and have found quite a bit of useful information. I just wanted to introduce myself with my first post because you'll probably be seeing me around a little more often.

I'm a 2nd year full-time student at California Polytechinic State University (Cal Poly). I'm a business administration major, probably going to concentrate in marketing. I'm in a fraternity, Delta Sigma Phi and enjoy it a lot. I've been into fitness/working out since my sophomore year in high school; ever since baseball coaches told my brother and I that we were too small to play - proved them wrong.

Currently, I am on a cutting stage. This is my first time trying out a cutting stage and after 8 weeks I'm going to switch to a bulking stage. I haven't tried a bulking stage yet either. I'm a cutting stage because I just entered "Fight Night" (Boxing). It's a philanthropy event here at Cal Poly held by one of the fraternities. I'm training for boxing Monday-Thursdays so I'm pretty worn out already, but when I do go to the gym I'm using the same exercises just making it 4 sets of 20 now. I was wondering if anyone has any good ideas for energy and maintaining my weight?

I don't know if this is in the rules or not, but you can get an idea of what I eat if you go to my blog www. gregghawkins .com The posts I've named "Fight Night Boxing (Day #)" have my main meals. Other than that, thanks for taking the time to read. :D

Had a quick read of one of your meal plans.

Breakfast (9:30 am)

* Cinnamon & Raisin Bagel
* 1 Scrambled Egg
* 1 Slice of American Cheese
* 5 Slices of Turkey
* Multi Vitamin (Member’s Mark)
* 1 Glass of Orange Juice

Lunch (2:30 pm)

* 2 Slices Whole Wheat Bread
* Peanut Butter
* Kellogg’s Fruit Snacks
* 1 Glass of Water

Dinner (5:30 pm) at Café Roma

* 1 Piece of Chicken
* 1 Portion Meat Raviolis
* 1 Portion Pasta Shells
* 1 Cheesecake
* 2 Glasses of Water

1.) Eat more food. That looks like barely anything...
2.) Eat more often. 3 times a day just doesn't work too well. Do you not get hungry between meals?
3.) Drop the crap food. I would personally get rid of the bagel, the fruit snacks and the cheesecake.

Thats just a few of my suggestions :)

Inbetween meals I'm usually not that hungry. But I was wondering, I used to take Whey protein, would that be a good for in between meals plus maybe fruit or veggies? Also, for the bagel I'm probably going to go out and buy whole wheat bagles.

I would only use Whey Protein post workout, due to its high absorbtion rate.

If I were you, I would read this (http://forums.johnstonefitness.com/showthread.php?t=19229) from start to end. This will answer your questions :)

I've read both his and Marcus' sticky numerous times and I'm STILL learning from them. Definitely read both of them, they are great wealths of knowledge. You need to learn how to fuel your body properly. Also, use the stickies to work out your daily calorie intake and aim for that. Do that and your body will love you for feeding it properly.

I have one more question...
Are jama juices good for you? or do they add a lot of bad stuff to them? I usually get the Peanut Butter Moo'd with protein boost

Link?

The first link is the Peanut Butter mood and the second is the protein boost. I usually get the "Original" size. I just don't know if they add any thing that's not that good for you.

Ingredients: nonfat frozen yogurt, chocolate moo’d base, soymilk, ice, frozen bananas, all-natural peanut butter.
