first a little background info.
i am 17 years old 5'11 172 pounds.i have been weightlifting for the past 2-3 months.
everyone thing went well. i added a decent amount of muscle mass and increased my strength significantly. now its just time to keep at the training but most importantly drop some weight for the summer months.
i have been dieting for 2 weeks now. and have lost 4 pounds. My routine so far has been:
no more the 1500 calories a day.
day 1 2 mile jog in 20 mins.
day 2 weight lift and 1 mile run.
i work out 4 times a week.
am i doing this correctly? am i doing enough. am i eating to much.
i really did not work my abs very hard in my first 2 months. is it probable that i could cut and have a visible six pack before beach season.. June 15ish?
thanks guys, and advice is much appreciated. :tu:

1500 seems like not enough calories to be honest.

You're grossly undereating, assuming no thyroid problems.
Why don't you list out your lifting routine.

I agree, that's way too few calories for somebody your size and age.
You aren't overly fat from your stats. I wouldn't try too hard to cut anyway. I'd still be working toward lean mass gains. I think you could easily eat closer to maintance and at your age lean out as you add muscle.
Abs aren't that reliant upon the work you do to them directly, more overall leanness.

for lifting i do.
chest/back/arms/abs
and next time
chest/legs/arms/abs
focusing on what i want to improve.
i dont feel hungry all that often. i eat every meal
1 serving of cereal for breakfast with 1 percent milk. 160 cals (honey bunches of oats or somthing)
slimfast for lunch with some celery 220 cals
supper is a turkey sandwich and celery, deli turkey and deli american cheese. i kind of guess its about 400 calaries because it doesnt say.
and water throughout the day.
so its give or take 800 calories. im guessing from your responses thats very little but i don't get hunger pains, i don't feel hungry even. if its harmful to me ill obviously increase what i eat but i just thought eating like this was dieting..
P.S. by the way im 15.6 percent body fat according to some online test.(not sure how acurate this test was)

Please read the stickies. That's way too little food, very low on a lot of nutrients, lacking in a lot of things like healthy fats, fiber, etc.
I think we can help you out, and the good news is you get to eat more :)

I would say you aren't doing it correctly or eating the right things, but who knows, you might make it work spite of your plans.
