I am some what perplexed as to which one I do for fat loss? It seems cuttting is when ur ripped but u have fat from your bulking period so you lose it by doing diets. Bulking is when u eat like a horse and Weight lift like mad. Am I right so far?
And from what i read for fat loss you do proper nutrition avoid junk food sodas etc. and you lift wieghts and do cardio. is this right? well i know its right for fat loss but when u do fat loss is it considered bulking or cutting or culking?
Lol i ask to many questions

Cardio is not only for cutting it helps you recover as well. During a bulk cardio can also help keep too much fat off too from eating all those excess calories. Anyhow someone will eventually chime in and tell you to read the stickies.

Not exactly. The term cutting usually refers to the attempt of shedding body fat while maintaining as much, or in some cases adding some, lean muscle mass as possible. Bulking on the other hand refers to the attempt of adding as much lean muscle mass as possible while keeping fat gains to a minimum. Now there are varying degrees of each. There are people who do not care how much muscle they lose and only want to lose scale weight. On the flip side, there are people who do not care how fat they get, as long as they pile on some muscle. Most of the members of this forum suggest losing fat while maintaining or slowly gaining muscle mass or gaining muscle mass while keeping fat gains to a minimum. In these cases, the types of foods eaten are similar but depending on the goal, the quantities and possibly the ratios are different.

Cutting is for fat loss.
Bulking is for muscle gain.
If you can minimize fat gain or even lose some fat while bulking, great, but most people accept that you may put on a little fat while bulking.
With cutting, it is preferred to add some lean mass but sometimes you just preserve it while shedding fat.
Unless you are a "skinny fat" person, i.e. someone with a high metabolism who has trouble gaining weight but still has some flab, I would not recommend bulking to shed fat.
It also depends on where you are starting.
Everyone is quick to say, "the scale lies" yada yada, but the reality is this: if you are 260 pounds and 50 pounds overweight, you are NOT going to gain 50 pounds of muscle naturally, so you SHOULD see the scale go down. It might not be consistently, but it is ludicrous to suggest that you would maintain scale weight or gain it and successfully shed that much fat.
On the other hand, if you only have 10 - 20 pounds to lose, then it is possible that going on an aggressive training routine with an ultra-strict nutrition program could put you in a position to lose that fat and gain that muscle over time.
Bulking is typically gaining weight overall, and one would hope it is mostly, if not all, muscle. Not gaining fat or losing a little would be a bonus.
Cutting is dropping weight and hopefully just cutting body fat. Gaining muscle during a cutting phase is a bonus. Beginners can usually do this, more experienced lifters tend to accept that they will just maintain lean mass when cutting or even lose a little (remember, not all lean mass is muscle, a common mistake people make and assume).
Hope that helps and best of success.
