I've been getting a bit of knee pain, not during my lifting, but during the days following. I've been looking for a good glucosamine chondroiton (sp?) supplement and was looking for some recomendations on good brands for the money. I figured I'd go to those in the know, before I just went and randomly picked one. There's so many options on the web, not to mention the supp. aisle at the local wally world.

MuscleMag magazine had an article about a year ago stating that Glucosomine Sulfate was effective in treating joint pain of severe osteoarthritis. It's what I take, 1500mgs a day, and this is from someone who was days away from knee surgery. I can't Google the source but when I get home I can tell you where to look if you are interested.

I get G&C and MSM at Sam's. I saw more results with the G&C before I started the MSM. I didn't notice a huge difference with MSM, but some swear by it as well.

Hey Thanks Guys, What I'm getting from your posts is that one brand name or whatever isn't necessarily better than the others. As long as I'm taking a G&C supp ones as good as another? I wasn't sure if there were quality issues or if any one would do. I like to save money, but I want to makle sure I'm putting quality stuff in my body at the same time.
MannishBoy, I hadn't heard of MSM before, I'll check into it, Thanks.

I wouldn't say brands don't matter, but from what I've read the Sam's stuff is generally good quality.

Give ETS a try with or without the glucosamine.

If you're getting Glucosamine supps don't get the ones that are just Glucosamine/Chondroitin...

Get the Glucosamine/Chondroitin AND M.S.M formula.

Celadrin cream seems to work for me also when applied topically.

Some folks around here swear that Emu Oil (yes, made from the bird) is better than Celadrin cream.

Sometimes when my Patellas get snitty I use neoprene knee wraps while lifting.
