View Full Version : Oh my...tired
cabeasle April 5th, 2007, 11:00 PM I've been doing Waterbury's Total Body Training for the last several weeks, and just got to the 3x18 night.
Decline Bench 3x18
Lat Pull Downs 3x18
Hack Squats 3x18
Romanian Dead Lifts 3x18
Rear Delt Lifts 3x18
Seated Calf Raises 3x18
Dear....God.... I swear my heart stopped two or three times during the Squat/Deadlifts sets, but man, I feel great now :D Just felt like saying something, because I was proud of myself that I didn't cut it short and bail near the end, hehe.

Hey Cabeasle!
:tucool: for not giving in towards the end!! That's tough :flex:
dluc April 5th, 2007, 11:09 PM Nice work on seeing the whole workout through:tucool:
MannishBoy April 6th, 2007, 01:21 AM I find on those high rep days I gradually start to lose the ability to count mid set, especially on leg exercises.
Good work!
dodus April 6th, 2007, 03:39 AM Dude, high rep day on TBT is no joke. When I was doing it, I could just never seem to find a set of exercises that didn't make me want to lose my mind.
Here's what I found out for sure though: not lunges.

That comes from getting a little hypoxic. It happens a lot when you push yourself with high reps. The solution is to increase your VO2max and lactate threshold. Of course, if you do that, it increases the reps and weight before you start to go foggy, but still if you push yourself further, then it still happens.

Oh man, I know what you mean. Lunges are the only excersize I actually hate. I don't know why. I'll do anything, but not lunges  That's definately an 8 rep or less excersize for me so I can be done as soon as possible.
M@ April 6th, 2007, 01:11 PM I hate the fact that you're tired but you know you could lift the weight if only they'd stop shaking the whole f'ing room from side to side.
Bobby88 April 6th, 2007, 01:24 PM Just got back from the gym where I did 3x15 day:
Traditional Deadlifts- Lower Back/ Hips
DB Squats - Quads
Cable Front Pulldowns Supinated - Back
Seated BB Military Press - Delts
DB Incline Curls - Biceps
Tricep Press-Downs (Supinated) - Triceps
Deadlifts were real tough, but I loved them. DB Squats too. But man...Military Press and Incline Curls made my shoulders and biceps explode (I think I actually felt *fire* in my biceps ).
I feel your pain man, 3x18 must've been painful :).
droopy172 April 6th, 2007, 01:25 PM Those 18 reps are extremely brutal I would sweat like a dripping faucet I had back squats in there and I felt like puking after rep 13. I'm really disappointed that I got sick for the last two weeks of the program so I coulnd't finish it and just went straight to my cutting routine.
cabeasle April 6th, 2007, 02:57 PM I had back squats and deadlifts in the routine during the 2x18 week, but when it bumped up to 3x18 I just laughed, shook my head, and found an eraser, heh. It was time to change up exercises anyways ;)
