View Full Version : Exercise Video Database
nmead March 31st, 2007, 03:17 PM I apologize in advance if this has been posted already.
John Berardi/Precision Nutrition just opened up his forum to non-customers a few days ago.
This is what I am most impressed with so far:
Access to the new Precision Nutrition Exercise Database with high resolution video demonstrations of over 450 exercises (each exercise from multiple camera angles).

I like the exrx.net site, but I think these videos rock.
Not affiliated with them, just thought it was a great resource to share.
bradh April 1st, 2007, 05:26 AM The best excercise resource around, i would say now.
Depalma2002 April 1st, 2007, 05:55 AM I didn't realize that the precision nutrition forums and database were now open to non-customers or I would have been referring this to other people as well. I really love the three camera angles as well.
Also, with these and other quicktime videos, I find if you hit the pause and then drag the button on the bottom of the screen to control the movement of the video, you can really focus in on each phase of a movement.
I think these PN videos have already helped correct minor flaws in my deadlifts and good mornings and I think they are going to be a very valuable tool for me going forward.

Yeah, it's pretty amazing really.
MannishBoy April 1st, 2007, 11:07 AM The main thing it needs is a "muscles used" type of explanation. Maybe with written exercise instructions as well. However, the vids are great!
I've not been reading PN forums much lately, and also didn't realize they were now public.
zenpharaohs April 1st, 2007, 11:19 AM It would be great, but I'm having trouble getting the link to work.

FYI to all- you do have to have a login to get to them.

I hit exrx.net for the 'muscles used' and a small demo and then I used to hit YouTube for vids, but I don't 'trust' half the stuff I see out there. Most of people's form sucks, or they are just out there for an ego boost. I want to see it executed exactly as it ~should~ be done so I don't carry on their bad habits. I agree though, a nice little blurb explaining the whats, whys and hows of the exercise along with the 3 angle video would be perfect.
Gordo April 1st, 2007, 03:20 PM Wow....simply wow.
I was wondering what dragon flags were...now I know :)
HevyMetal April 1st, 2007, 03:34 PM Nothing happens for me...logged in there as a member, when I click ex vid it says "select ActiveX conrol to play this". So I do. But nothing happens.
Bobby88 April 1st, 2007, 03:45 PM OMG
Thank you, thank you, thank you :D :jumping:!
Why didn't someone tell me of this site before  ?

You need QuickTime installed to see the videos.

1FastGTX April 1st, 2007, 04:45 PM I was on that site all night.
Thanks for the link!!

That's the part I'm having trouble getting going. I got an activation number from them but when I try and use it, I keep getting sent to a screen that wants me to become a customer. Which I assume, from the original post here, is not necessary.
HevyMetal April 1st, 2007, 06:09 PM I have "Quicktime"...in fact it starts to initiate it (with Quicktime logo) and then stops and goes blank.:bang:
George April 1st, 2007, 06:15 PM Yay, I'm not using too much leg drive on push press. :bb:
Bookmarked! :tu:
gazareth April 2nd, 2007, 08:20 AM I went on there to look for military press. It's not there
HobbesAB April 2nd, 2007, 09:38 AM I went on there to look for military press. It's not there

Luke April 2nd, 2007, 10:03 AM Zen, I had the same problem you are when I first logged in. After I clicked on the link to make sure it was activated I just went back to the main page and logged in and it worked fine. I think they may still be working out some bugs to make it free??
Nowhereman April 6th, 2007, 12:08 PM I registered but it doesn't let me look at anything. I log in but it says I do not have sufficient privileges.

Did you activate your account via email?
Black-Dawn April 6th, 2007, 05:33 PM very nice.
Thanks for the link!
Shahar.

Go back to message they sent and response to it. They will let you on. I remember it was a little odd getting in. If you didn't get it, check junk mail filter.

I did not get an email, and when I try to see if I put my email incorrectly it says I don't have enough privileges. I might just have to create another account.
Edit: I just tried but it said that the email was already in use. If I don't recieve the email today I'll email them tomorrow.
Archistrategos April 7th, 2007, 05:42 PM Awesome resource, just what I was looking for. Thanks nmead! :tu:
BTW, if you get the page that says something about needing to be a customer after clicking the activation link, look in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Does it show your username? If so it worked and you're logged in.
