View Full Version : Post-Carb-Up Headaches?

Hey all:

I have two complex carb-containing meals a week, at night-time, as part of a suggested Beverly Nutrition diet regimen that seems to be working well. My problem is that the morning after the carb-up meals, I wake up with a pretty intense headache, like the exact kind of headache you have during a hangover, except (usually :tucool: ) I haven't touched a drop the night before. I've tried drinking excess water right before I go to bed, but the headache is still there in the morning. Anybody have any experience with this, or any ideas what I could do?

I've got the headache right now as we speak. Ow!

Yeah, they're the only two carb meals I eat (besides tons of veggies).

Where's your fruit? Beverly doesn't cut out all fruits on all of the non-refeed meals.

Refeed meals don't give me headaches, just some bloating and stomach issues the first week or two. After that I feel really good the day after a refeed.

How long have you been on the plan, and can you show more info on the diet?

Whoops, you're right, I totally forgot about the grapefruit. I eat one every day during breakfast.

As for the diet, this might look familiar because you were answering my questions in an earlier thread (remember, the chicken livers!), but here goes:

Me:
5'11"
160lbs
12-13%bf

The diet:

Meal One:
4 extra large egg whites
150g chicken livers
1 cup spinach
1 whole grapefruit
2 Fish Oil
(400kcal, 9gF, 33gC, 45gP)

Meal Two:
60g whey protein powder
2 tbsp peanut butter
(420kcal, 18gF, 10gC, 50gP)

Meal Three:
225g chicken livers
1.5 cups broccoli
2 Fish Oil
(312kcal, 11gF, 12gC, 38gP)

Meal Four:
225g chicken livers
1.5 cups broccoli
2 Fish Oil
(312kcal, 11gF, 12gC, 38gP)

Meal Five:
60g whey protein powder
2 tbsp peanut butter
(420kcal, 18gF, 10gC, 50gP)

Total: 1864kcal, 67gF, 77gC, 221gP

Carb-up (Meal 6 on Monday and Thursday):
2 cups green beans
120g oats
40g raisins
10oz sweet potato
1 tbsp Smart Balance Omega-3 Spread
(944kcal, 17gF, 174gC, 23gP)
