Just curious how technology has or hasn't worked its way into personal training.

I took tennis lessons a few years back and one of the most helpful things we did was videotape our serve, forehand and backhand. Digital camcorders were pretty new then so it was really cool seeing your form frozen in the middle of the swing. A good coach could tell you exactly what you were doing right or wrong and it really did help improve your game.

I just wondered if personal trainers use any techniques like that or any other tech that might not have been in the picture 10 years ago.

Online personal training programs like SGX seem pretty revolutionary to me.

the university of Arkansas weight room has cameras so the player can record and playback their lifts immediatley, it even mesuares the speed at witch the bar travels.

Most high level Olympic lifting training halls will have a similar device. They look really useful. Just a regular digital video camera suffices as a low tech option for the rest of us (and most personal trainers and gyms) who can't afford to shell out five digits.
