See green tea is one of those things that if it was marketed on tv with some informercials, you would not buy it because it would sound too good to be true.

(Looking at the bb.com link I cannot see why people would take a pill with some green tea extract rather than just drinking the actual tea itself  )

Because some of us can't stand tea. ;)

Actually, my cereal has green tea extract (100mg per serving).

Does it make any differance to the "goodness" of green tea if you have it hot or cold ?

No, drinking it cold still has all the benefits. Just prepare it hot and add some cold water. That's what I do when I don't feel like drinking hot drinks in the middle of the day. The taste is quite bitter, however, so I add a bit of Splenda.

I hear you, I used to not like tea at all. What I found was that once you start drinking it, it actually grows on you and now I actually like the taste quite a lot.

Tea should be unsweetened and coffee should be black.

Also note: Decaf is the Devil's brew.

I bought a box of Lipton Green Tea today and drank about 10 cups throughout the day :D Very good stuff. Good to know that it's actually beneficial to drink it and that there really isn't a limit :P

Well, yes and yes :)

One thing that green tea does is burns up some fat and wastes this energy as heat. They call it thermogenesis. The bad news is that this energy is wasted, all you get is some extra heat produced. The good news is that there is extra energy wasted, so you basically burn more energy "free".

Other than this, green tea has a bunch of antioxidants and other "stuff" it in that makes it really healthy.
