I have 2 questions that i was wondering if anyone here could anwser.

First, I have heard that if you eat more during teh day then dont eat past a certain time it is better for you when trying to lose weight. I was wondering if there as any truth to this.

Second, I was told by a friend of mine that I shouldnt be weight training until I reach the weight I want to then start weight training. I was wondering if this was good advice. Thanks in advance.

To elaborate... ;)

To lose weight you need to eat less than you burn and to gain weight you need to eat more than you burn. Its as simple as that, regardless of when you eat. Some may argue (and I am not in disagreement) that meal timing is important, for instance, consuming most of your carbs around your workouts, however in the case of the average individual looking to lose some weight you simply need to concentrate on the following.

- Eat several small meals per day (6 or 7 is ideal)
- Balance each meal with carbs, protein and fat
- Avoid fast food and trans fats
- Eat plenty of wholegrain carbs (brown rice etc)
- Drink lots of good clean water

Regarding your weight training question. It is a well known fact that weight training is highly beneficial to weight loss as weight training builds lean muscle mass. The more lean muscle mass you have the more fat you will burn. Lean muscle burns an incredible amount of calories so it stands to reason that the more you have the leaner you will become. Coupled with a well thought out cardio routine, weight training will burn lots of fat.

I hope that helped somewhat... Oh and do yourself a favour and read the stickies at the top of the forums to educate yourself a bit.

Good Luck and keep us informed. :tucool::tucool::tucool::tucool::tucool::tucool:
