Cheers everyone, I've been lurking on the website on and off for, well, all of this year. My friend clued me in a while back about this place when he was looking for inspiration. To say the least this place is incredibly inspiring, so I've decided I should take the next few steps to clean myself up and get myself into a more pleasing form then what I"m currently burdened with.

I'm 6'1 213lbs as of yesterday, pics attached of my current state of flab. I live in Las Vegas, and to be honest this town does a number on your diet and way of living.

So basically I want to say hello to everybody and that I'm going to using this forum as inspiration to be at the gym everyday lifting my weights, building my endurance, and getting myself set so that I can hike like a normal guy again. I, just like most people, want to slim down, get sexy, and personally I have a goal of getting to the top of Calico 1 at Red Rock Canyon, here just outside of Vegas in 10 minutes. The best I ever did the hike/climb was in 20 minutes, but usually since I am so rediculously infrequent w/ sticking with exercise I usually hit it in about 35 minutes. A friend of mine does it in 12, and the way we know the route to the top it is very doable to get up in 10 at most 12 minutes.

Thanks much. I like how positive people are around here and encouraging. Granted I know I'm a stubborn individual when it comes to lifestyle changes, but every little step is a step towards the goal. I've started logging everything I consume, and starting a regular going to the gym routine. I do think the one biggest thing will be getting a routine for the gym, basically getting there 6 days a week and have objectives on what I want to accomplish. I'm starting a journal tonight as well, to keep track of and hit weekly updates to keep myself focused. Whatever it takes.
