I was up to 274lbs and now im down to 219lbs. i have put on alot of muscle and lost alot of fat. im trying to gain muscle more then fat right now but im still eating good foods. i have more muscle in my legs then i ever have had in my life. last night my wife and i was laying in bed. she felt my leg and she felt lumps in them. i felt them and kinda freaked out. we then felt the rest of my body and found them on my stomach and on my sides. i have them all over but they arent noticeable like on my legs. is that fat lumps that have shrunken down like i think or is it cancer like she thinks lol. anyone else who has lost weight ever notice that? does it go away if it is that?

How big? Are they relatively "hard"? I've got a few sebaceous cysts... could be those... they're common and harmless unless infected at which point they're just uncomfortable.

If it's in areas where you have a decent amount of fat and it's more like cottage cheese... could be just fat getting ready to go away.

they very in size. they feel like they are deeper then a cyst is. i have had a few when i was younger. it does feel like large curd cottage cheese but they arent like cellulite or anything. you cant see them. you have to push around to find them. i hope it is the fat getting rady to go away.

I would guess they are Lypoma, or fatty cysts. Often these form due to a congested liver/gallbladder, possibly from a bad diet as a child.

Most likely if you go to your doctor they'll send you away telling your their harmless. Oh, and please pay your bill at the front desk! :D

It's LIPOMA, which are benign overgrowth of fat cells, with a VERY VERY VERY small chance of liposarcoma (the cancerous kind, usually in larger ones). And, no, there is no known reasons why people get lipomas - ?congested liver/gallbladder - i don't even know what you really mean by these, and CERTAINLY they do NOT cause lipomas. ?bad diet as a child? - where are you getting these info?

My thought is lymph nodes that are overburdened with all of the toxins released from lost fat stores... Though I really know nothing, just my wive's-tale understanding of bodily workings :p

I guess people get them when they are fat. Or at least the chance someone very lean will get one is smaller.

I have one that I first noticed a few years ago when I was really fat. In my experience it gets smaller when I get leaner. I mean if Iīm 15%BF itīs bigger compared to when Iīm 9% BF. And when I was fat and 35%+ BF it was really big compared to how itīs now.

So, perhaps, even if itīs a overgrown fatcell it can get empty or lose some of itīs fat content when you get lean and lose fat...

I've had 7 in total (lipomas) removed from my side oblique area, my stomach, and on my back.

1) I was never overweight, that has nothing to do with it.

2) Never had a bad diet as a child, nor any liver issues or other ailments. Again, that has nothing to do with it.

Mostly they are genetic, but can form on anyone for whatever reason, it's not known exactly why. I had them removed for the purposes of modeling and competitions in bodybuilding.

I think I have this but it might not be the same thing. When I grab areas of skin on my chest or biceps I can feel "cottage cheese" like lumps. I can't see them but I can feel them under my skin. There are lots of them not just a few. Hopefully it's fat going away like somebody suggested earlier in this thread as I am trying to lose weight.

Any thoughts?

Probably ordinary fat...

Oh right, it's not like that in other fatty areas that's why I wondered. :D
