I don't know why this is, I lost about 25 lbs so far and made solid muscle gains. still have 40 more to lose, but when I look in the mirror I feel very 'ugly,' worst about how I look than when I was heavier.

It's like now that I look better I look worst... is it because now that I am lighter, I am not as fat but the proportion is uneven?… so my face looks big still but my body is a little skinnier? or... i dnno

That would help:nod: You might just be acting a little hard on yourself, or maybe you're not making the muscle gains that you think you are. Either way it's hard for us to tell without seeing the pictures.

Possible answers :

1.
You are now more conscious about how you look.
Which is a good thing, but try not to develop a body image disorder. :)

2.
Proportions

3.
You fat could have turned "softer" which is a normal process and just means you are losing fat, but this can also make your gut look worse. Wait a while and it will tighten up once all the extra water is removed from the now empty fat cells.

I forget who said it but something like:

When you're bigger you fill out your clothes better.

Then you lose some weight but aren't really lean either. The in between zone you don't fill the clothes out the way you did but you still aren't thin either.

Yes, this must be it, I think it is proportions, I just can't wait until the time when I am lean and proud, might feel I will never look good, but I know it is possible because I achieved it once before, but this time I will achieve it with more muscle mass than I did so I will look better
thnx for the replies

On one of your last posts, you discussed your weight training. It didn't seemed well thought out. Diet cause weight change. Weights cause form and shape changes. Just from the little bit I have seen of your post. I would think the problem if there is one, it lies there.

Get on a well laid out program for a beginner, I suggest full body. :bb:
