I have been reading on this site for a few years now and i have finally decided to register and post my first thread as i felt it would keep me more motivated.

I am 23, 5'11" 215lbs-I would say i am about 17-18% bodyfat with a very solid muscle base. I played college football up until i was about 21 and started to not be as active as i have been my whole life. I am not a fat slob or anything and i am still very athletic, i just want a head turning physique now.

Please rate my diet:

Meal 1:
8:00 am-1 cup Fiber One w/8 oz of 2% milk
8:00 am-2 scoops Isopure Protein Powder w/16 oz of skim milk

1 oz of raw almonds (22 pieces)

Meal 2:
11:00 am-8oz Boneless Chicken Breast
11:00 am-1 cup of steamed broccolli

Meal 3:
2:00 pm-8oz Boneless Chicken Breast
2:00 pm-1 cup of steamed broccolli

1 oz of raw almonds (22 pieces

Meal 4:
5:00 pm-2 scoops Isopure Protein Powder w/16 oz of skim milk

Meal 5:
7:00 pm-12oz Red Snapper Fish
7:00 pm-1 cup of steamed vegetables

I drink 1-1.5 gallons of water per day.

This diet comes to about 2200 calories, 50g of fat, 129g of carbs with 32g of fiber, 300g of protein.

My workout regimine consists of 3 days of weight training, 6 days of 20min HIIT cardio or 30 min LISS cardio.

Is this to much milk on a strict cutting diet?

I look forward to your comments and posting here for a long time to come.

you need to add a starchy carb to whatever meal falls after your workout.. something like, oatmeal, white or sweet potato, rice, or egg noodles :tucool: other than that it looks pretty good :tucool:

Some people have said that I am consuming to much protein. I have quite a bit a muscle underneath my fat so i think it would be needed to feed my muscles. What do you think?

My usual workouts take place after meal #4 at about 5:30 pm. Do you still advise the starchy carb at that late in the evening? Why the starchy carb?

Thank you

your muslces need the energy (carbs) to help rebuild the muscle that you just worked... after looking at your amounts again I tend to agree that it's a bit high on the protien side.. the standard rule of thumb is 1 gram of protien for every pound you weigh.. so if you're 215 lbs, you should have 215 grams of protien... however the number can be increased if your trying to bulk or put on muscle and are lifting for muscle gains, just make sure you drink enough water.... and if you really are drinking up to a 1.5 gallons of water every day you should be fine with that much protien... how long have you been eating these amounts? have you seen any positive strength gains? muscle gains?

Increase carb intake to around 200, by adding in some strachy carbs. You could also increase your fats too. Try having Olive Oil on your Chicken Breasts, for example :)
