I know I can't spot reduce. Wish you'd lie to me and say I could :D

My lower belly [bellow belly button area] is the last hurdle. My waist has dropped to the point I almost can't find pants small enough. Never thought I'd have that problem. But that lower belly isn't progressing very quickly.

My weight started dropping again awhile back. I think because I upped the cardio and upped my calorie a bit. Do I just keep trying to drop a bit more weight? Or should I consider a different tack?

I'm eating a fair bit so it's not like I'm starving myself. I don't think that's an issue.

I'm not worried about six packs etc. I just want to tighten up the lower belly.

I'd say keep at it. That's my biggest problem area right now as well. If that would just be the same as my upper ab area I'd look pretty damn good. You'll get it, just don't give up.:jumping:

Keep going. The lowest I'd estimate I've had my body fat is 9-10%, and that area still hadn't tightened up for me.

So at 13-14% I'm expecting too much.

If my waist gets much smaller I'll be buying pants in the kids section. Hope the weight mostly comes off lower.

Thanks

If you're unhappy about getting any smaller, you might want to think about a slower cut, which will make it easier to combine losing fat with gaining muscle. Or, you might want to move towards a maintenance or bulking phase. I was unable to reduce the fat in my thighs to a favorable amount until I first increased my lean body mass to a more healthy point. I was tired wearing children's clothes most of the time.

Also, if you want to maintain size in your waist, don't ignore your oblique exercises.

I wouldn't call it a fast cut. I think I lost 1/2 pound last week. But my waist keeps shrinking. I had this wild eyed goal of a 34" waist. Soon I'll be able to squeeze into 30" jeans. But the lower belly is much slower to shrink.

Tom Venuto mentioned something about this. He said his lower belly fat doesn't go away until he reaches 3-4% body fat.
