View Full Version : Looking for some opinions
cabeasle Fri, February 16th, 2007, 05:55 PM Ok guys, I'm curious what i should do. I still have some fat on my midsection. I tried to put pictures up, hopefully they came out well. I am probably sucking in a little on the non-flexed pictures (i'm just not a poser, heh, not comfortable without a shirt in front of a camera).:o There is definately a good bit of fat that hangs whenever I bend over, or sit down/crunch up. It isn't horrible, but I'm always worried about putting on too much more fat in a bulk and looking really bad (since I wouldn't be starting with visible abs). Eitherway, I'm trying to decide if I should bulk or keep cutting until I can get the last 5 lbs or so of fat off. However, it has been very hard to me to lose any more weight then where I am at. I have been sitting at this point for a very long time. I am leaning towards bulking. It will be nice to be able to eat a bit more for a change. But I thought I would get your oppinions as well, since I am always impressed by the amout of knowledge that gets passed around on this board. :tucool: As a side note, what body fat % would you guys think that i am at?
Oh, and my stats currently: I am 5' 9", 169 lbs.
Thanks alot!
cabeasle Fri, February 16th, 2007, 05:57 PM As an after thought, I don't seem to look as fat in the pictures as I do when looking in a mirror. Maybe it is perspective. But I really do think I am sucking in a little ;) whoops
chicanerous Fri, February 16th, 2007, 06:33 PM You could really go either way at this point. Good work thus far! :tu:
If you decide to cut further, I'm sure that, if you post your diet, someone will be able to help you tweak it so that you can lose those last couple pounds.
MannishBoy Fri, February 16th, 2007, 07:40 PM I would personally start to slowly add calories back and try to build muscle. Your metabolism might be lowered to the point that it's harder to cut, so at a minimum, bumping it for a month or so to at least maintenance may make cutting the final fat off later easier. However, you don't look very fat to me.
My vote would be maintenance at a minimum for at least a month, and probably a clean, slow and steady bulk.
cabeasle Fri, February 16th, 2007, 07:42 PM My diet really isn't specific, to be honest, which might be part of the problem. Mainly, I try and eat clean (as it has been defined on these boards), six meals a day, with a nice balance of carbs/protein/fat per meal. I also aim for about 2k calories a day (and since I make most of my meals, I'm pretty good about calorie counting). What I eat varies week to week with what I can get my hands on to prepare. This week it is beef and brown rice...next week it's looking like chicken and sweet potatoes
cabeasle Sun, February 18th, 2007, 12:24 PM Does anyone have a guess at what my bodyfat% might be? I've gotten such ranging results from online calculators, from 12-16%, so I'm am at a loss :) My shoulders and chest seem pretty lean to me, but there is no ab definition on my stomch really... about 14%?
Hort Sun, February 18th, 2007, 06:32 PM You might be 12%. Undermuscled so your abs may just not be all that developed.
