Signed up for a 10km run for charity with work and need some help training for it as I've never really ran that far or even trained much for a run.

Firstly I'm asthmatic so don't really have the best lungs for long distance running (will be going to the doctors for advice too) but what can I do to increase my stamina and basically my all round ability to finish the run.

Cheers
Gary

How long do you have before your 10k? What kind of shape are you in right now?

This link is for a 5k and takes 9 weeks, but I guess you could just double everything to get you to a 10k. I wouldn't suggest doing that though unless you already do some cardio on a regular basis.

The run is in May.
Gonna see what doc's say too but I do more cardio than some of the chaps doing it but a challeneg like this will be good for me.

It doesn't get any more well-repsected, solid than this. (http://www.halhigdon.com/10ktraining/10knovice.htm)
