View Full Version : Fasted LISS (makes me feel ill)
Mr_Potato_Head Fri, February 2nd, 2007, 08:14 PM Anyone else experienced nausea when trying to do fasted cardio? I had to stop about 40 mins in because I felt like I was going to pass out, I was constantly checking my heart rate and was well within my limits.
I guess my body just doesn't want to work without some food in me

So eat some food and do it.
Which do you think will be more effective at burning fat ...
Putting in a 10% effort because you feel nauseous and have to cut it short, or putting in a 110% effort and going full out because you listened to your body and got some fuel in it?

Mr_Potato_Head Sat, February 3rd, 2007, 04:20 AM Yep I have had some oats today and from past experience I know I'll be ok. Was just wondering if anyone else gets this?
SwoleCat Sat, February 3rd, 2007, 11:23 AM I could never think of eating oatmeal before doing LISS, but to each his own if u just can't hack it. The primary reason liss works is because of the "empty" state and the heart-rate required to utilize that method.
Seriously, that's just like me eating Burger King after doing legs or eating no post-workout meals at all after legs and going to bed. To me it defeats the purpose. If anything, try a protein/fat meal only (small one) an hour to 1.5 before to at least keep blood sugar down. Yeah, oats are low GI, but............

Do you really feel not training legs at all would be better than training legs but not using a postworkout meal?
Maya Sat, February 3rd, 2007, 06:52 PM I'd say have a protein shake like 30 min before.
I think its just low blood sugar that you are experiencing.

I'd definitely wait to train legs when I could eat afterwards.
Of course, yes.
I don't know of anyone who would train and then not eat. To me that's like buying $100 worth of groceries in the store and purposely leaving them in the shopping cart before driving home.
Just how I feel about it. I got to where I am today by doing things a certain way and instructing others in similar matters. I will say I'm very confident in what I do, w/out a doubt.
Off to enjoy the weekend, everyone enjoy the Super Bowl.
