View Full Version : Manual meatgrinder - tips?

Hey folks, i just tried to ground up some moose meat. I got a good bit done until all the meat got jammed. It was due to the meat being too warm i believe.

Anyhow, the rest of it is in the freezer now for awhile and then i plan on doing it it again.

Any tips?

Well thanks for the help! :D

It went great, i had a blockage due to griso(sp?).

Now i have ground moose!

I think you got the major part down (meat has to be really cold). The toughest part, cleaning, goes easier if you send a couple slices of bread through the grinder first. Enjoy the moose meat :drool:

I have a cast iron grinder that comes apart, pretty easy to clean frankly.
