Hi all,

I was just wondering about this and hoped that someone had some comments.

I generally dont eat sweet things and dont consider myself a sweet tooth at all, however I am beginning to wonder about this.

This is how my days play out (every day), mornings are savoury by choice and no thoughts of sweet enter my head, I do eat oats with raisins and whey but thats about to change to oats and egg whites (when my order arrives) but all other food up to and including lunch are savoury meals. Directly after lunch I crave something sweet and deal with it by having a diet soda or fat free yogurt or both . Afternoon snack is whey and oats with seed so I guess you could say its sweet then dinner is savoury and once again directly after dinner and the rest of the evening I crave sweet things.

Its not a problem as I work it into my diet by using semi decent options, for example my last meal of the day is a protein pudding where I mix a splash of water with whey, milk powder and pnut butter (it turns out quite sweet).

I am just curious as sometimes I feel as if I am going to crack unless I have a sweet fix, especially after lunch.

Comments?

P.S. I eat a few servings of fruit throughout the day too and am currently taking in 3400 cals per day on the second week of a bulk.

I had the very same issue...craving something sweet right after lunch. I solved this by preparing a berry bowl for lunch dessert. I buy frozen strawberries and blueberries in bulk at Costco, and just get some canned pineapple at the grocery store.

When I'm putting my lunch together in the morning, I throw some of each into a bowl, and then just leave it out in my desk at the office. By the time lunch comes around, all the BBs are thawed, and the SBs are halfway thawed. The PA gives adds a lot of sweetness. Altogether, it's probably a little over 100 calories. Not a bad price to pay for fixing the lunch sweet tooth.

If your craving something sweet splenda does wonders make a cup of coffee and put splenda in it. I do that for dessert pretty often, either that like you mentioned earlier frut is good as well. Remember your bulking you don't have to be as anal as when you take in carbs shoot sometimes I even use a teaspoon of sugar instead of splenda.

I agree with Droopy and the Splenda idea. If coffee is out of the question, you could try strawberries or grapefruit with 2-3 (okay, maybe 5-6, haha) packets of Splenda.

Eat half a tub (or 100gr) of fat free Cottage Cheese mixed with 1 packet of sweetener and a tablespoon of vanilla whey. Tastes like Cheesecake and damn sweet too

When I'm craving something sweet, I don't find any of the health foods with some added splenda or fruit to do anything to help it. Perhaps for a few minutes, but then it comes right back.

Personally, I just incorporate things that prevent cravings to occur into my diet. I try to limit them to 100-200 calories a day throughout the week, and then once a week anything I want.

I second that ... and with all the flavors...

For the last several months, I've not been on my work-out plan for medical reasons. My craving for sweets went really high. Though probably people would not recommend this, I binged on fruit... very sweet and very ripe fruit. It really helped and I actually lost weight for a period.

I am just starting to get back to working out and eating clean. The thoughts come through my head to eat stuff off-plan. SO far I've been able to resist it. But I have not yet reached the testing point when the craving feels over-powering. SO far I just try to think it through, about how I will feel afterward if I give in and how I would feel at the same time point if I don't and instead get that feeling of accomplishment.

I hope this carries me for a while.
