I am wondering how people work weights into an active lifestyle. I am asking because I know when summer rolls around again I will want to be out riding my Mountian Bike and Kayaking 4-5 days a week. Right now I am pretty sore 1-3 days after I lift. With that kind of soreness there is no way I will be able to ride or paddle.

Will the DOMS get less with time? (I haven't really been lifting very consistantly till Jan.)

Thanks,

Jeremy

Basketball practice & games 5 days a week, running almost every day, weight training 4 days a week. I feel some DOMS but I just live with it and think of it as a good sign.

DOMS won't be as bad if you're consistent with your training. DOMS also usually alleviates somewhat (at least temporarily) when you get the blood flowing and the heart rate up.
