I've once and again mentioned the demanding physical work of Hotshot Fire Crews. There is a series of shows on today on the Discovery Times channel called "Into the Firestorm" about such a crew.
My wife used to fight wildfires, and she says so far the show is dead on accurate except that they didn't show the awful food yet.

My life long best freind has been on a HotShots crew for going on 15 years now. The last 5 years he has been on a HotShots HeliShots Crew. He is stationed out here in Ramona California. It's cool to hear the stories and see pictures from his trips. I will try to get some pictures form him and post them up on here. Since his crew is on a Helicopter some of the photos are amazing. Like when they repel down to the ground from the helicopter into the fires those pics are awesome. They send him and his crew all over the United States to fight fires. Last season he spent most of his time in Hawaii, not a bad place to be for a few months even if you are fighting fires :D
