I thought other people may be looking for an alternative to "Fast shakes for on the go" like me...I hate protein in plain water...just cant handle it...gag reflex in a major whey :d_eek:

Take 12 OZ. of Diet Dr. Pepper and 1 scoop of chocolate flavored whey protein (I use EAS brand) and shake in a shaker for 30 seconds. Tastes very much like a root beer float. Enjoy! :tu:

I just did something similar to this.

1 scoop vanilla protein
0.5C All Natural Flavored Sparkling Water
0.5C Black Tea
No calorie Sweetner (I used Stevia)

I only did it because it was meal time and these were all on my desk, but it was a nice change from the regular protein taste. More like a Cream soda float on this one. :tu:

Well this is a problem. EAS Whey is probably one of the worst tasting powders I've had.

Holy ancient thread batman! A ghost from the very early days of JSF

I am always amused at some of the concoctions that people come up with. Diet Dr. Pepper mixed with protein powder?

I've experimented in the past too though....I once tried mixing Nitrean with oatmeal, and I had to dump it out. I just couldn't stand it....which is odd because I love nitrean and I love oatmeal. But, together, they suck. I also once tried mixing some vanilla whey with cottage cheese....and could barely choke it down. I tried to convince myself that it tasted like cheesecake, but after the umpteenth stifled gag, I realized that the lie just wasn't working. A few other nasty concoctions have quickly put an end to my days of protein powder experimentation. The only thing I can mix it with is water or milk (preferably milk). :eat:

Are you kidding? I eat this EVERY morning. 1 scoop Strawberry Nitrean + 1 cup oats is the best breakfast. With chocolate or vanilla, you need to add Splenda.

I love it that way!

I love that too! I even mix in PB and cinnamon (and splenda).

Vanilla Nitrean with ground oats is probably one of my favorite shakes of all time. :)

Hmm....maybe I am the weird one here.

Yeah....I really haven't found anything other than water or milk that works for me. Maybe I should try ice cream. :eat:

Now, if you are talking about raw ground oats, I think I could handle that. Hell, I might even like it!

But, in a bowl of cooked oats? http://smiley.onegreatguy.net/puke.gif

I didn't have any skim milk today, and havn't bothered to buy some in the last few days since I am going away for a week tomorrow.

I had to have it with water, definately not a nice change from skim milk. You lose the frothyness and tastiness of the milk.

It was gross.

Yes, raw ground oats. :) Use a coffee bean grinder and grind them up really well into an "oatmeal powder," then just add them to a shaker that has Nitrean and water in it.

I love my Vita-Mix 5000. I throw practically anything healthy in it, e.g., baby carrots, fruits, ect. with my protein powders. Lots of ice and I end up with ice cream. Always tastes great IMO.

I must agree with 1FastGTX...EAS taste isn't one of my favorites although I used it a lot when BFL first became popular.

Nitrean is one product I've never tried, but it seems quite a few folks are using it.

But, in a bowl of cooked oats?

Oh yes. It took me a year to figure out the best way:

Boil water in kettle, pour over 1 cup old fashioned oats. Let sit for 3 mins.

1 to 1.5 scoops Nitrean in a small cup. Add a small amount of COLD water (not hot), stir until liquid.

Add Nitrean to oats and stir. Eat. Yum.

I've noticed that adding the Nitrean straight to the oats gets very clumpy, and there's some slight bubbling (I'm assuming it's a mild chemical reaction with the protein and the hot water, and I probably want to avoid that). It also tastes like crap that way.

As for flavors, the Strawberry not only tastes better, but somehow it mixes MUCH better than the chocolate or vanilla (although I haven't had vanilla in ages since I really don't like the taste).
