And when I say sick, I don't say it revolts me. I don't mind the taste of it at all. I've tried it in pure liquid form, and gel caps.

But 30 minutes after I've ingested them, my mouth gets hot, I start salivating, and I honestly feel like I may throw up. I couldn't possibly be allergic? I eat fish on a regular basis, and I never react this way.

Is this just a real oddity, or do this happen to others?

Hmmm, maybe you should see a doctor for an allergy test or something:confused: I'm the opposite, I despise the taste, but after it's down, I'm happy:)

Odd that both fish and flax would do that. Doesn't sound like an allergy, but maybe a sensitivity to that much undiluted fat at one time. Are you taking them with a meal?

Also, are you taking them to balance out your macronutrients? If you're getting that little fat from diet, kudos, but you might consider just putting some butter or mayo on a few things you're eating anyway.

Just a coupla shots in the dark.

I had been trying taking the oils after my main meals (1 1/2 tsp with B/L/D). I try and aim for 40/40/20 (20% fat), from 1700 calories.. and I usually end up having about 26% with the fish oil.

I get some fats from whole eggs, meat, natural PB, cottage cheese and olive oil in my daily diet.

Have you tried any of the enteric coated fish oil caps? That keeps them from immediately breaking down in the stomach acids so that the
pill gets digested in the intestines.

You might try taking several small doses rather than one or two large doses. Also, be sure to take them with meals. I get sick too if I don't take them with a sufficient amount of food

First, you don't need either so if you experience that effect I would skip them. You may also want to determine which one of the two (or both) causes the problem. I find that fish oil has a negative effect on me in a different way but I do not have the same problem with flaxseed oil.

Fish oil caps have a weird effect on me too, then again, I don't like/eat fish, so that might have something to do with it.
Flaxseed tastes horrible IMO, so I stick with olive oil and PB as my main fat source.

Flaxseed and fish oil are both nasty. Natural pb and olive oil are just as good.

Well, you won't get any Omega 3s in PB or olive oil. So you are missing out on some of the anti-inflammatory and cardiovascular benefits for one thing not to mention all the other benefits.

Balancing out fats IMO is a good idea for overall health.

Very true, what I meant was pb and oo is better than saturated fat.

Hears a few other omega 3's

I stand corrected, there are some Omega 3s in OO. However, it is only 1% linolenic acid (http://www.oliveoilsource.com/olivechemistry.htm#Omega-3) (the omega 3).

All saturated fat isn't bad. You need some. Natural coconut oil is good if used in moderation for instance.

Supposedly, saturated fat is also anabolic according to some. I believe that's why mastover and 1FastGTX promote heavy cream :)

I just got some Smat Balance Omega Natural Peanut Butter (http://www.smartbalance.com/omega3.html)...
Says it has 1000mg Omega-3's per serving. It has flax seed in it so I dunno if it'll help you much. Just another option.
