Hi,

I have written Imp. because i have to start a supplement ( nutritions ) program ...starting tommorow morning and i need some answears please.

I use a common protein drink . i want to add a multi-vitamin product .I have bought 1 today but.....all the vitamins are at least 250 % - of daily requirements - going to 900% .

My question is : Will this mix ( proteins + multi-vitamin capsules ) may have collateral effects ? ( 900% of B12 + 110 % - from the protein drink - is a 1100 % ! Not counting the normal diet ...vegetables , milk etc. - )

What do you think ?

Thanks
bye

I think you should do a lot more research before settling on one. The RDA has nothing to do with side effects or if it's healthy or not. Most of the time you probably should be getting many times the RDA - that RDA is just the minimum for survival, nothing more or less.

Do a search. People have been talking a bit about multivitamins lately, so I've written my opinion in other threads.

The RDA in Italy may well be different than in the US.

As Jeremy says, though, it really depends on what you are getting 1000% of. If it is somethign like vitamin C, it may be OK. For others it might not be so good (iron at 1000% RDA would not be good for instance).

I eat about 2lb of veg/day and calculated the only vitamin I was getting enough of was vitamin C. And even then you loose a certain amount in cooking, so I probably wasn't hitting my RDA for any vitamins and minerals by eating 1.5-2lb of veg. I didn't calculate amount for other foods as well, but that was I needed to know to not be afraid of taking a decently strong multi along with my healthy food intake.

Yes , But do you us protein drinks ? ( those have something like 60-90% RDA + decent food + multivitamin pills at least 260% only from the pills ) .

I bought a book about vitamins with all the details i need to know so before i will start to take those pills i will read it . :tu:

Thanks
