I recently pickd up a couple liquid muscle milk cartons for about $1 a piece and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this or used it.

Super Tasty - most people consider them high in fat. The label makes claims about how the fat used in it is not readily converted to fat in the body. Grain of salt applies.

I think they're around 330 calories(?) with decent protein. I find them great for when you need a quick easy meal mid-day or sometimes in a pinch when traveling or whatnot.

I once told my wife how they tasted like a milkshake - and after she had a sip her reply was "It's been too long since you drank a real milkshake."

Sounds good, thats probably all I'll use them for - a quick meal-on-the-run (I have too many of those). Sounds like a good alternative for protein bars and other stuff like that.

A while back my friend recommended it so I researched it. The nutritional info. was far from impressive and the price was outrageous. I remember thinking "they must be the best tasting shakes on the market considering how well they sell." They are, IMO:nod:

Hmmm...Expensive? (http://www.dpsnutrition.net/get_item_ct234.htm). Poor nutritional value? There are definitely some "better" products out there if you're just looking for a protein powder. But as far as a protein blend goes...EvoPro which is the blend used in Muscle Milk is one of the better ones out there.
What I've come down to with Muscle Milk...It's a great portable meal, because you don't need to be carrying anything else to mix with it...just powder and water (I don't use milk). I just ordered a 5 lb container of vanilla to keep in the house. Is it the be all end all? No...but neither is anything else on the market. It shares the kitchen closet with Nitrean, Primaforce Substance, and some Beverly products.
I don't know if I'd foot the tab for the ready mixed drinks though. It's far cheaper to carry some powder in a shaker and add water as needed. A $1 a box isn't bad though. Just my two cents...

I only use it these days if I'm travelling and find myself stuck without a decent meal option... so I drop into a local mall's health-food store and grab one.

Good stuff, although I'd only use it for my bulk...Doesnt have much protein (4 scope for 36 grams is it?) but makes up with little traces of creatine....so yea id keep it for my bulk

stupid me. I only checked out the ready mix stuff assuming that was the only way it came. The price for the ready drink is OUTRAGEOUS IMO, and I'm shocked there is such a gap in prices between the ready make/powder version.

As for the nutritional value, I considered the fat grams to be rather high. I suppose "good or bad" is too vague as it all depends on your goals. Thanks for bringing the cheaper alternative to my attention!
