i know they help muscles heal and so forth... but i drink two a day, and i was just wondering if this was fact or fiction...

its more like complete BS :)
the only thing that will make you bloated/retain water is sodium, creatine, and some steroids and pro hormones. im sure there are other things.. but these are what we are namely focused with in the health world.
in order to lose water, drink alot of water :)
if you drink enough water.. your body will not hold onto the water, it will keep only what your body needs. and you will get rid of the rest

in order to lose water, drink alot of water :) Just like you have to eat more, and more frequently to lose fat :)
Our bodies are pretty smart at recognizing what's in abundance.
"Hmmm, tons of water/food out there apparently. I'll be getting it when I need it, no reason to hold on to it!"

Stick to your plan and see where you are at in 4 weeks. You've got lots of good info. Just be patient before you change things again or you won't be able to tell what was effective for you and what was not.
If you are excersing and eating properly you will lose weight. :tu:

Question, not pointing out the thread starter just question in general, does it really matter if you retain water? Any negative health reasons?

I think retaining water is perhaps one of the first few things that come to mind when the scale aint going down.
