George Sun, December 3rd, 2006, 07:32 PM I'll join.
Goal: Have three weight-training sessions a week. It's really really cold outside. It's also icy, windy and there's a lot of snow. I know I'll probably try to talk myself out of going to the gym. This challenge will help.
I'm going to add on to my goals. Since I train first thing in the morning, I tend to lift completely fasted. My second goal is to eat one piece of fruit within ten minutes of waking up. I will do this on non-training days as well in order to build the habit.
OK. As of December 15th, I'm home for the holidays. I no longer have to train in the morning and I usually have at least a few meals in me before I lift so the second part of my goal is somewhat void.

I've already almost skipped a couple meals, but then I thought of this thread and went off to eat. :tucool:
George Mon, December 4th, 2006, 08:22 AM I lost about 2.5 hours of sleep last night because of my roommate and his friends. I woke up today, stood there looking out the window at the snow and contemplated skipping my workout. Then I remembered this challenge and off to the gym I went. :bb:
George Wed, December 6th, 2006, 10:47 AM 9:30 AM!
This challenge helps me remember what day it is.

anfeyd Tue, December 12th, 2006, 10:50 PM Sorry Chic, been extremely busy- for this I am taking myself out of this competition for 3 days as my edited post says. Thats what I get for cramming for finals. - After that I will have more time, and use this thread as continued motivation :tucool:

I had two pieces of Stouffer's French Bread Pizza hot out of the oven -- 880 calories. I'll probably eat something else later too.

anfeyd Sat, December 16th, 2006, 06:43 PM The Legend of Zelda has consumed my life :( . However, I'm still doing good on the passive stretching. Now that schools out, dynamic stretching will return to the equation.
George Fri, December 22nd, 2006, 11:38 PM Hey, I'll be gone skiing from the 23-26. I think there's a gym at the place I'm staying so I'll try to get my lifting session in on Monday. :bb:

This challenge sucks. I needed it at school, but now that I've been home for weeks for break it's very annoying to have to log meals. I don't want to not finish what I started though. :)

Indeed. I would be interested in starting another one up once the spring semester is here, however. (January 8th for me)
dluc Sat, December 23rd, 2006, 12:44 AM You guys are doing great, don't give up on the challenge! It's almost over and you've all got perfect scores so far:tu: Let me know if you guys start one up next term I may hop on.
anfeyd Tue, December 26th, 2006, 11:24 AM I'm out with a hamstring problem. I'm stopping all dynamic stretching (minus arm swings, and some trunk stretches). Same goes for passive stretching to the lower body. I didnt think this challenge would motivate me much, but it did. The month is almost over so hopefully you guys can finish it out :tucool:

What's the hamstring problem? I ended up with an injury to one of my mine as well last winter when I was attempting to get the splits as well.
anfeyd Wed, December 27th, 2006, 12:19 PM Well I started having hamstring problems when I did get the splits last year sometime. I can't remember the exact spot, but it would only agrivate me when I did attempt front splits. I just stopped trying them and layed off, then it went away.
Earlier this year, somtime in the summer, I think I injured it tricking. The pain subsided, but I don't think the injury totally went away. Lately its been feeling 'weird', but I really couldnt pinpoint the spot. Due to a car ride (2 hours), the spot where it hurt really intensified and tightened up. The region is right below the glute, in the upper semimembranosus/semitendinosus region.
anfeyd Thu, December 28th, 2006, 12:39 PM I forgot to mention that there is what feels like pain in my hip joint, on the same leg. Its aggrivated if i'm in a horse-riding stance.
chicanerous Thu, December 28th, 2006, 02:21 PM Ah, I've never had pain there. My injury was at the base of the hamstring at the knee. Flexing the muscle was okay but any sort of stretch would give me pain -- just a plain old overstretch, I think.
