I've done HIIT before and I've always been impressed by the quality and effectiveness of the workout in such a short ammount of time. I recently read an article (http://www.musclemedia.com/training/hiit.asp) on more of the theory behind why it works.

I was wondering if it would be effect to do HIIT twice a day - once in the early morning and once in the afternoon? Has anyone tried it, or are there any drawbacks that are obvious to others?

That's a good question. I do have friends that do cardio twice a day. I'd say go for it. I would just be sure to carefully moniter your intake of water, vitamins, and suppliments to be sure you're giving your body time to recover. If you start to feel worn down and ragged after a periond of time I would probably back off some.

HIIT is a pretty brutal workout. If you do cardio twice a day you are likely going to get injured, then you won't be able to work out at all or in a limited capacity. Part of the workout process is to allow your body to recover and to rest. If you are eating right, doing HIIT once a day, and exercising, it will all come together.
