Two years ago I got my sister an exercise shirt for Christmas and she loved it! I'm not sure what to get her this year, but I'm thinking something fitness related would be good, and I'm hoping someone here has some ideas. I'd like to spend around $40-50

My sister does not really lift weights. She just runs. But she runs a lot, probably 5 days a week. The only things I can think of to get her are shoes (I don't feel comfortable picking them out), a running shirt (lame, repeat), or running shorts. It'd be awesome if someone here had some better ideas though.

Thanks!

Heart rate monitor?

Don't get her shoes; she needs to be in the shop so that they do that funky thing where they mold it for her feet. What you could do is go to a running store and get, or fake, a voucher for a pair of running shoes. Then she can go in herself and get them. Should be able to arrange it with the people in the shop.

Get some ideas here. (http://www.roadrunnersports.com/rrs/gear/giftideas/) Apart from clothing there's not a whole lot of accessories for running (for obvious reasons). What remains tends to be high-dollar (HRM/GPS) or relatively cheap (hats/waterbottles/etc.).

Does she run outside in the winter/cold months? You can never have enough hats/gloves for that since you need to wash them all the time.

If you go the multiple-trinket route (e.g. water bottle, gloves, fanny pack) then get a handful of Gu's (http://www.roadrunnersports.com/rrs/nutrition/nutritiongels/list/?_requestid=118414) or other gel carbohydrate treat. They're essential for long runs and a PITA to keep buying. Great stocking-stuffer. :)

what about a night-time running vest - the reflective sort? very sweet gift for this time of year. or a race entry? buy her entry to her first 10k? subscription to runners' world?

athleta, title9, roadrunnersports are all good sources of inspiration.
