I run for 30 mins on th treadmill 6 days a week (5 min intervals starting with 30 secs at 3.75 miles/h (6km/h) then 4.5 mins at 7.5 miles/h) The same routine everyday, well it gets quite boring after a while. the best remedy there is or at least that i have found is an ipod. Also, when the song is right, you kind of get into resonance with the beats and run much faster and not get tired. So i would like to ask you folks, what songs make you push your limits ... I suspect this question is right for this forum , but well since liss is quite common for weight loss i think this could give some good info for a lot of people...
thanks

I find anything with a steady beat is good.
Crystal Method released a track they did for Nike which is designed for runners, you might like to check that out.

To be honest, I can listen to anything on my iPod while exercising, even classical, but lately it's been a lot of minimal electronic stuff, microhouse, dubstep, glitch stuff, and of course good 'ol (and new) electro funk!

Right now, I'm all about Eminem and 50 Cent - You Don't Know. It's really good if you're into the commercial rap game.

If you're more of the alternative/emo person, I've just discovered Cute is What We Aim For - Curse of Curves

Depending on whether I'm doing cardio in the AM or PM, I'm either listening to 'Morning Edition' or watching 'News Hour'.

But then, I'm a huge dork (as evidenced by submitting this post at 11:50 on a Saturday night).

the best remedy there is or at least that i have found is an ipod.

Get one.

I used to despise all things Apple, having worked in IT for many years in the days where Apple products didn't play well with Microsoft networking systems. My distaste for Apple continued until a friend showed me a video iPod he'd gotten last Christmas.

I have every single album I own (something like 310 of them) ripped to my computer and on my iPod (I actually bought a 60 GB hard disk just for storage and swapping out multimedia content on my iPod). I probably have a hundred playlists. I can listen to anything I want, anywhere, anytime. I would be lost in the gym without my iPod.

And the iPod and iTunes works perfectly on Windows. I never have a problem with it. Two thumbs up, I highly recommend it. Very nice techno-toy.

Lately it is Alter Bridge and Velvet Revolver. They really seem to motivate me. I have always been a fan of Slash. For some reason when I listen to my Ipod and Ray Charles comes on or some Gospel music, I really get into it. I don't normally listen to Gospel but it seems to work well with Deadlifts for me.

Dragonforce, Rhapsody, Sonata Arctica (sometimes a bit slow but still delicious), Iron Maiden, Skindred, System of a Down, Andrew WK, Blind Guardian, Symphony X

I HIGHLY recommend Dragonforce and Andrew WK for cardio. Ridiculous energy music.

Lamb of God and Burn The Priest are the same bands ^_^

Personally, I go on the gazelle for 30 minutes and most of the time I watch one of my Death DVD's, and then for weight lifting I tend to listen to a Death CD. I guess I just love Death.

Hahaha forgive me, but I just love the image of someone using a gazelle and listening to metal. In essence.... That's pretty f-ing metal :D :guitar:

Yeah, I wish I had a treadmill instead but I bought a dip station over the summer instead and recently became addicted to ebay, so I can't afford a treadmill anymore.

Also, I don't have a mullet thankfully, I was growing it out long but long hair is annoying when working out so I have it short now.

I just listed what I listen to on my Ipod that's all. And if you want to get technical LOG and Burn The Priest were different. First they started out with Rany Blythe, Chris Adler, Mark Morton and John Campbell then later they added another guitarist Abe Spear as Burn The Priest. It wasn't until later that Willie Adler joined the line up they axed the other guitarist and they changed the name of the band to LOG. So like I said technically they are/were two different bands :moon:  At least I consider them different the styles changed emensily and they went a different direction.

Fair enough, but I disagree with the style changing very much. Personally I feel the biggest change was Randy's vocal style, but I'm crazy so who knows.

Either way I still consider them to be basically the same band :)

almost anything Busta Rhymes
Rage Against the Machine- Bulls on Parade, Guerilla radio, and others
Slim Thug- Like a Boss
Old Ice Cube stuff
a little 50, Pac and Biggie

And now Im adding Prodigy's - "Fire Starter" to the mix as well! (I forgot about that song) not to mention some other ones that you guys mentioned.

But when Im in a cool down/ warm up or stretching mode, I tend to listen to slower music to get a focus going.

I can't listen to dragonforce, nor disney, as I end up going 10k miles an hour and burning all my energy in a second.
