Can someone tell me how this is possible? It's an unsupported leg press performed by Ed Zercher.

They just had the barbell placed in the groove between the heel and ball of the foot on a pair of boots and then pressed it. I believe they had a certain type of or a specially made boot for it, but I'm not certain. I don't understand how it's not possible or, at least, the impossibility of it as your question would imply. Hort Sun, November 5th, 2006, 02:38 PM It certainly would take very good control/stabilization... now, if those skinny legs really put up all that weight. :D But I'd never be one to criticize Zercher. :tu: 1FastGTX Sun, November 5th, 2006, 02:57 PM There is also a spotter on each side, look at his hands, they're right under the bar. BreakingPoint Mon, November 6th, 2006, 12:33 PM I didn't even notice those two were helping him get the weight on his feet (that's how tired I was). But I like how he performs such a dangerous lift yet has the nerve to lay a towel down. :D, that is indeed some serious stabilization. droopy172 Mon, November 6th, 2006, 12:40 PM Yeah that would be insane to do on your own. LOL zenpharaohs Mon, November 6th, 2006, 01:44 PM I don't understand how it's not possible or, at least, the impossibility of it as your question would imply. It's possible, but it's way not entry level. Zercher was very experienced and very strong. phitness Mon, November 6th, 2006, 03:39 PM I'd love to see a video of it... |
