Ok so right now I am 170 lbs. at about 34% bf and i'm 16 yrs. old. I want to get into shape for baseball this spring and I would like to drop about 30lbs and 20%bf. I have about 6-8 weeks and I would really like to build up more lean muscle.
I have an ok budget cause my dad will get me things that don't cost too much. At the moment I have two things of Advantage Protein powder, a bench press/leg curl/lat pulldown/ that's possible of going up to 210lbs on the bench press, a jumprope, 20lbs barbells, and deterimnation. I was wondering if anyone could give me some guidance. Thanks

Realize that dropping 30 lbs. and 14% bodyfat in 6-8 weeks is next to impossible. (without serious muscle loss or the aides of illegal substances, and even then it's not realistic)

As well, "building up more lean muscle" would be a totally different approach from the very extreme dieting you would be doing to accomplish the fat loss goals you have. No way to do both at the same time whatsoever.

To give yourself the best results possible, you'll want to do cardio daily, that means EVERYDAY. I'd do the a.m. fasted type at 65-75% of the MHR for 45 mins. Diet is going to be EVERYTHING here, so make sure that you have that ironed out to get the best possible results. You may not be able to lose all of the fat you wish to, but to get the best possible results the cardio and diet are going to have to be sterling in nature and totally impeccable.

So do you think setting my weight loss goal to about 2-3 lbs of fat lost a week and maybe Strive for 4lbs a week. With the Cardio.
I also forgot to mention that we are going to be strength training for baseball in the weight room twice to three times a week. I also plan to supplement that with workouts at home on my "gym". Is there any Supplements that you recomend for this type of training?

Whatever you do, don't over-train by adding too much more work at home on top of what you are doing for your sport. That will only serve to do more damage than good. 2-3 lbs. a week is a good goal, yes, anything more than that will yield lean mass loss.

Again, I'd focus on your diet/cardio, not so much on supplements to take.
W/out those two being totally on point, nothing that you supplement with is going to make a difference at all. Ideally you would have wanted to start this "journey" about 2-3 months ago, so as to be able to make a nice descent into your final look/stature.

Good luck!

I believe you should check out the forum above this one. (beginner forum)
You made a 2nd thread in the supplement forum about wanting someone to give you a diet, and that's not only the incorrect forum, no one will "give" you a diet here as you'll come to learn.

As it reads atop this forum, "this forum is for those who have already invested time into learning about fat loss. Beginners should post in the beginner's forum."

Since you are in fact a beginner, I'd actually focus my attention there and read up on all of the sticky posts there and present your plan of attack once you have it so that people can give you their thoughts.

Are you playing fall baseball? That will be an important question, as you will need to train and eat for performance.

How tall are you?

At your age, I would keep it pretty simple and I wouldn't get super strict on diet. That doesn't mean cheat every day, but it does mean you can cheat more often than I can. :)

I would however train very hard.

Can you get in your school's gym to get some good squats in?

Baseball is all in the back and legs. Make sure you aren't just working you show muscles(chest and arms). Be very careful with you shoulder workouts. You don't want those overworked and overtrained before the season starts, or the rotater cuff could be in danger when you start throwing again. Take extra care in warming up too when the season starts.

Hard work and a little dedication and you'll see some good results(probably in fat loss and muscle gain the first few months). Just try not to undereat too much or you'll risk injury and fatigue before the season even starts. I wish I worked out when I was in HS baseball. I know I have way more power now than I did then.

I plan on trying to get in a adult baseball league this year. My bulk is gonna start about a month before tryouts. I hope these leagues aren't too competitive. Lets just say my nickname was E5:o

Good Luck!

I also found out that I have more than 6 weeks but i'm not quite sure how long. I wanna say 2 months but it could be more.
I am around 5'10. It's spring baseball. And I have been strength training for my legs by doing Squats, Calf lifts, leg press, lunges, and leg curl. I've been doing those a high weights and 3 sets of 6 reps(coach said we should be barely able to finish the 6th rep. We've trained our arms with, bench press, lat pulls, tri extensions, and curls. We've also touched the back and the core with rowing, and we've choosen 4 of these ab workouts at 50 or 25 reps, Good Moring Darlings, Flutter Kicks, legs at 90 degree angle crunches, and leg at 90 degree sit-ups w/ touching oppostie elbow to knee.
I over did it last time we did calf lifts last tuesday and when I sit down for awhile when i get up i have to walk in my toes for a little while, while my calfs adjust. I have been streching to try and help it but it doesn't do much. I felt fine doing calf lifts in the gym today however, weird? It's definetly not a soreness but more of constant pain and every now and then the muscle twitches and it hurts like hell.
As far as dieting I decided just to supplement my workouts with protein shakes every morning, along with carnation instant breakfast(if you want to Nutrition stats on that lemme know). Other than that I am just planning on cutting out my sugary junk food, starches, and carbohydrates that are high GI. I might go on a juice fast for 3 days also; however i'm not too sure if that'll help.
Let me know what you guys think.
thanks

I personally don't see what a juice fast would accomplish but dropping water weight for 3 days. You can expect slowing of the thyroid, drinking pure sugar (juice is pure sugar), and catabolism from no protein intake.

Please heed this advice. A "juice fast" will probably have no benefits to your goal whatsoever and also is not very healthy from any standpoint in my opinion.

Ok i'm not gonna go for the juice fast. Glad I asked you guys. But as far as the other plans. What do you guys think? As soon as my legs feel better i'm gonna pick up the cardio running.

I don't mean to sound harsh man, but there is TONS of good info in all the sticky threads in these forums. We will gladly offer critiques of plans you make for yourself, but asking us "What do you guys think?" is not enough. If we were to just spell it out for you, it wont be a lasting change in your life. The effort has to come from you and will help you tweak it up. This whole fitness things has few if any quick fixes especially if you want to be healthy about it. I would not expect to lose more than 1 or 2lbs/week if you are doing it in a healthy manner and indeed want to keep the muscle you have. Welcome now please get reading.

If you have a coach, do what he/she says.

I would scrap that Carnation instant breakfast stuff. Eat eggs, egg whites, oats, grapefruit for breakfast.

The protein powder is fine to use once or twice a day as a meal replacement. Add one of the following things to it though: almonds, flax-seed oil, heavy cream, oatmeal, fruit, milk, flax seeds.
