I am replenishing my supply of vitamins, supps, etc. and I have learned about this company, NSI (http://www.gonsi.com/company/gonsi-company-information.cfm), which is exclusively sold by Vitacost (http://www.vitacost.com/).

The owner of the now deceased Kent Nutrition said that he thought they were a pretty reliable company, that they bought many of their products from the same source he did.

The reason I am asking is that not only are they incredibly inexpensive... but I am thinking of replacing my usual Pioneer (http://www.pioneernutritional.com/) products with some of theirs.

Pioneer is an extremely reliable brand... they test their own products for absorbability, etc. They are on the expensive side but if you shop around on the internet, you can get them at pretty good reduced prices (Mostly the best prices are either at House of Nutrition or Wholesale Supplement store, depending on which product.)

VitaCost also seems like a company oriented toward pretty thorough research. For example, their article on the best forms of calcium supps
(which I have to take due to my advanced age... ) here (http://www.vitacost.com/science/hn/Supp/Calcium_Best.htm) not only seems well researched but also cites to a whole slew of articles published in good medical journals for just about every statement they make.

I know that a lot of you are fans of Bulk Nutrition, etc., getting stuff even cheaper in powder form rather than capsules... but I need to have capsules as I pack my food for the whole day until the evening most days of the week. I am willing to spend more for the efficiency of the capsules for me.

I really just want to know if anyone has had any experience with them or read reports about them.

Never heard of them. For inexpensive vitamins/minerals I would use Walmarts brand.

For everything else (don't know what you currently are on) I'd go with bulk for the most part. I, too, pack my foods, supps for the day. With a little advanced planning, you could easily pack bulk powders and save a bundle.

Justitia - can you give us a list of vitamins/supplements you're looking for?

I pretty much stick to only a few brands these days. They're not exactly the cheapest, but they are the most effective and the best quality in my experience: At-Large Nutrition, Beverly International, Primaforce/Scivation, NOW Foods.

Sorry, I don't know anything about NSI. :(

That will be my next stage of advanced planning :) ... right now I am trying to get shopping, food prep...and filling the 60 or so tiny little box compartments each week for my supps, meds, vitamins, minerals... blah, blah, blah

wait for two more years, Mastovoer... you won't believe what the doctors load on you.... I used to say, "another year, another pill". But now that I am approaching my 60th year, it's become " another year, another 2 pills... or 3... :p ) And you don't even have to deal with the aesthetic preservations we women sometimes feel duty bound to engage in... )

But then, if I ever get to the level of physical fitness you are at... man, would I be proud.....

Thanks for the suggestions.... :)

Justitia, if I should be so lucky to look as good as you one day soon(I've seen your pics  ) I will be astonished :tu:

Here's a company I like to use on occasion for the "little" stuff which is so important: www.renewlife.com

I am not sponsored, endorsed, nor afiliated with them in any way, so please don't feel I am :madpimp: ing them out.

Good luck! You are truly an inspiration!

Thanks for the mention of Primaforce... I did not know about them. And thanks for confirming about NOW... I have used their products in a couple of instances because they are relatively less expensive, and i have never been sure of their quality. Of course, I have products from AT and Beverly.

I will give a list of what I am still looking for and post it here. I had a 10% discount coupon from House of Nutrition on top of their sale prices.. so I just ordered a bunch of the Pioneer stuff I use... Cal-Mag, 1+Vit/min, CoQ10, Vit C, GLucosomine/Chondroitin and I got a small bottle of their Super Tonic... which seems to do a good job of restoring you when you have been run down, as I certainly have been.

I also got New Chapter's Neurozyne, which a bunch of herbs combined with Ginko that I find really works for mental acuity (but I believe its effect is due to my being post-menopausal -- which fuzzes the mind) , Jarrow's biosil for silica (shiny hair and nails :) ), Enzymatics Ultra Iron as I tend to be anemic and Enzymatic's 7-Keto. I had bought NOW's 7-Keto before but it came in 100 Mg doeses and 25 mg 2 x a day is better. 7-Keto is a licensed patent so I don't think it matters who you buy it from... the variations are what the manufacturer adds to it, which most add caffeine... which I don't want. Now and Enzymatic are just pure 7-keto. But I cannot attest to its effectiveness, as I have never been consistent enough to judge... just blind faith.

I will be looking for a green tea extract (decaffeinated -- which the Kent guy said the extract was) with hoodia, some zinc, some chromium picolinate and CLA.... CLA One which is superior to Tonalin has sold itself to another manufacturer who's licensed it out all over the place and I am not sure of the quality. I am still looking into that.

I decided to buy NSI Alcar and Taurine as the Kent guy said it was from the same source he used.

I know... a lot of pills... but I can justify them all... really...:D

BTW, the Kent guy was not too high on Bulk Nutrition... he didn't explain why...
